Time seems to be acting funny today, the beginning of the day seemed to be non-existent and now it can’t pass fast enough. I’ve had the pleasure of a surprise mini vacation from work since about Tuesday, so maybe that’s it. I mean, I did go in yesterday for a few hours — and technically was more productive in those few hours than I have been in 2 weeks. I counted some cells, go me. I had some ambitions to go in and maybe tackle another set of cell counts, but since I spent an hour and a half at the eye doctor this morning I decided against it. Maybe I’ll go in early tomorrow and wow the Russians with my work ethic. But let’s be serious, my work ethic sucks. And, as Mike said last week "Nothing good can come of a project started on a Friday." Which usually turns into me not doing work for half of the week. I’m sure by this time next year I will be begging for this kind of down time, so I’m enjoying it while I can.

Hotel room is officially booked for San Diego! We (my surrogate lab family, I guess, since I’m the only student in my lab now, and M & M don’t have memberships) scored some sweet, sweet rooms overlooking the bay right near the convention center. I believe Emily is looking to score us some good plane tickets, too. Now to start applying for travel grants…

Aside from playing amateur psychologist the past few weeks, nothing is really going on in my life. My sister’s wedding is getting closer and I’m excited. I got to see her dress when I went home for the bridal shower and it is absolutely beautiful.

Greg has hinted at missing me this weekend again. It’s adorable, really. I actually might miss him, too. I’ve caught myself smiling while thinking about him. I like this moving slow thing, it’s nice to savor this part.

Time is not speeding up, this isn’t helping. I guess it doesn’t really help that I have close to nothing interesting to write. Bah.
