GLEE! + sister friends and clock :-)
HEY EVERYONE! So guess what! I finally posted my audition for the television show Glee! Please please please PLEASE view it on myspace.com/gleeauditions, youtube (search for Hannah Spool) or facebook (if I have you on there) and leave me some comments! I am going to need all the support I can get! Thank you so much and wish me luck! 🙂
So about my weekend! I went and spent the weekend with my sister! YAY! Well not really the weekend. Part of it. I went out Sunday to stay Monday as well and leave Tuesday afternoon. Haha. I wuv my seeesturrr!
Her and her husband Kimo took me to this amazing tai restaurant that was soooo delicious! We had cream cheese wontons, coconut soup, and I had some really good Pad Tai! It wasn’t so sweet like it usually is so I liked it better! Theeeen we had a big surprise! Robin and Young, Robin is a family friend of ours from AK and young is her husband of 5 years, called to say that they were in the area and wanted to come see us! They were on their way back to Kodiak because Debbies fiance is there visiting and they want to meet him! Soooo they drove out to Rachels house and hung out with us! How awesome! Thats the cool part about being in the LA area. Lots of people you know come through there on their travels so you get to see them more often! That was true with Seattle as well actually. Any who so Robin and Young came over, but sadly Kimo had to go right to bed because he had to be up at 3am for work at the marine base. Geeeesh! So yeah he went to bed and we all stayed up talking and playing Apples To Apples!
Robin is seriously so sweet, it was so nice to see her again! It made me miss Wendy, her sister, a lot. I realize I’ve spent more time with Robin in the past couple years than I have Wendy. 🙁 I really have to find a way to go see her!
The next morning I made everyone crepes for breakfast! It wasn’t long after that Robin and Young had to leave 🙁
The rest of the day we spent lounging around just chillaxin. Kimo made us a great dinner of chicken teriyaki, rice and gyoza while we watched start trek! Rachel is so lucky to have a husband that cooks for her! It was delish! Every time I go over there I eat like a queen because of him! I hope I can cook for them some day since they are always cooking for me!
Tuesday morning my sister took me to the antique store near her old job because the last time we were there I spotted an antique cuckoo clock that I just LOVED! It was hand carved wood, dark, and on the top it had three large maple looking leaves with a rose right in the center of the middle leaf. The house was completely shingled and right below the little hatch where the bird comes out was an opening with children dancing that goes round and round when the time comes. On the bottom of the clock is another three leaf piece except there is a rose in the center of each leaf this time. Hanging down from it are three brass pine cone weights hanging by brass chains and one medium sized pendulum with a rose pattern around the rim. It’s just gorgeous and I knew I had to have it! So we had it put on hold and now I was going to pick it up! 😀
The clock cost 300 dollars…..thats a lot of money for a clock, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it and I knew that this was something I wanted as an heirloom in my family home someday!
After picking up the clock my sister headed to her interview at Buckle! I am so excited for her because she’s always wanted to work there! I hope she gets it!
When we got back to her place we took her white german shepherd yuki to the park. Then I had to go. I needed to be back in time to get my birth control before the pharmacy closed and to have rehearsal with my scene partner!
My scene partner ended up cancelling so I went to the gym instead, which was really needed. I had not gone in almost a week! When I got back I ate tacos while watching gossip girl and then I decided to look up my clock online to see if I was ripped off or if I got it for a good deal.
I checked out the details on the clock to see what I should search for.
On the back of the clock was a certificate that felt like it was pasted on. It said Reuge Music on the top and in the middle showed the songs that the clock played
Minuet Lullaby W.A Mozart
In teeny tiny letters on the bottom of the certificate it said "Made in Saint Croix Switzerland"
That confused me because a sticker that read "Original Masterpiece CCC Triberg" was also on the back of the clock, and Triberg is in Germany…..So where was it made? Germany or Switzerland? It didnt take long for me to figure out that it was the music box inside the was made in Switzerland and the clock itself was made in Germany! How interesting! Another thing I noticed about this clock is that there was an engraved metal plate on the side of it that had someones first initial and last name. G. Burger and then there was a little symbol of something like a building. Underneath that symbol read Big Ben. Then also "Member of the Cuckoo Collectors Club Triberg" was engraved.
The last thing I noticed was a small symbol stamped right on the wood on the back of the clock that had to be what looked like two keys crossing each other inside a circle.
All of this information and I could not for the life of me find my clock! There was no way for me to date it or find it’s worth! I searched for over an hour! Surely someone else must have a clock out there with a collectors club plate on it……
I finally posted the details about the clock on Yahoo ask to see if anyone who knows clocks could help me out.
Cuckoo clocks range from 20 dollars to over a thousand dollars depending on the year and make! I know for sure though that mine is exclusive. Especially since I cannot find it anywhere!
Any who, my laundry is done so I am going to go grab it and head to the gym. Lates!
