sister sister

As soon as I heard the knock at the door I just about ran to it. I had been sitting and waiting for an hour wondering when she would come. As soon as I opened it I put my arms around my sister.

“RACHEL! AHHH GIVE ME A HUG! I AM SO HAPPY YOU’RE HERE!” I said with a bouncy happiness.
I squeeed her tight and didn’t let her go.

“Hannah!? Hannah what’s wrong?”

I burst into tears. No matter what I can never hide from her. She knows me better than I do myself most of the time.

“Hannah what’s wrong? It’s okay! Hey!”

I told her about my sudden homesickness and how happy I was that she came because I really needed the company. She asked me why I didn’t just tell her what was going on. She would have come right away. I said I didn’t want her to make her feel that she had to because of my pity party. I didn’t want to make her feel guilted into it.

Any way I was so glad she was there. We decided to go out to the Granville Cafe at the Americana since I had a coupon for it. Plus, since we would already be there, we thought we’d go find a dress for me to wear to cousin Josh’s wedding!

Now I am 5″3 so I’ve always stuck to shorter dresses because anything that has come below my knees has made me look shorter. So of course I have always steered clear of dresses like the maxi style because of their length. Not only that but I have a curvy figure and I always thought those dresses looked good on the tall, thin, willowy girls with long limbs. Today however I was inspired because Rachel was wearing one and it looked absolutely GORGEOUS on her! I never thought she could pull it off! So when she pointed out a powder blue maxi dress, that looked like something a greek goddess would wear, to me I thought “Eh why not? I’ll just try it on.”

The dress was low cut with braided straps that went out to the farthest part of the shoulder and dipped down in front. The dress gathered and sinched right below the bust line and billowed out from there, not like a mumu or a curtain but like the way a goddess dress would fit.

Here’s the closest thing I could find that’s like the shape of it. Except you have to imagine it in a tye dye light and dark powdered blue, braided straps, and a more fitted bust that sinches tighter and creates a more curvy look.

Anyway the moment I put it on my sister and I both gasped. It was stunning aaaand it actually it made me look taller! Maybe since the dress was so long it elongated my figure? I don’t know, but it looked great and I knew that it was the dress! That made me real happy ^_^ After that my sister found a really cute dress with bicycles on it at Anthropologie. At first I didn’t like it. The dress was too big on here and to me it looked like it widened her hips. It was true, the dress WAS too big for her, but they didn’t have it in a smaller siz and she wanted it so, my sister being so creative, she put a belt on it and with a sweater over it as well it actually looked awesome. She knows how to make anything look great. After that we ate at the granville, which serves everything organic, natural and fresh, and had the most amazing cranberry turkey sandwhich! We even received a really nice compliment from the waiter! He said “I just want you girls to know that I deal with people in here every day and it’s not often I come across two such genuinely real nice people. You girls are very good people I can tell.” That probably wasn’t his exact words, I don’t remember, but it was something like that and I thought it was so nice!

Rachel and I ended up staying up till 3 in the morning watching this anime called “Emma, a Victorian Romance” That was sooo good and then we talked till around 5 in the morning. Saturday we were so exhausted we both agreed not to do that again. That day we were headed to the mall to find me a bra that would work with the dress, because none of the ones I had right now were fitting me and I just hadn’t bothered to go buy new ones yet. First though, I wanted to take her to Puertos Bakery and The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf! Those were two wonderful places she had yet to experience! Puertos has these cheese rolls that are to DIE FOR! Flaky, warm, honey glazed goodness with sweet cream cheese inside. Each one only costs 65 cents too! Rachel decided on a cinnamon roll and a raspberry mouse. Then we went and got our coffee, which she agreed was really good coffee, and we headed to the mall. Even though we only went there to get me a bra, we browsed the shops for a couple hours. There is this awesome store called TOKYO that had all of this stuff from japan and it was sooooo cute! I mean they had EVERYTHING! It was like a mini japanese walgreens or something! There were ear cleaners, kitchen supplies, tools, tupper wear, purses, key chains, stationary, stuffed animals, cell phone charms, home fragrance thingy, everything! I am definitely going back there because I have my eye on these adorable sponges! One is an apple, one is a banana, and the other is an orange that all have cute little faces on them! I thought they would be a good contribution to my kitchen hehe.

After the mall I picked up some chicken at the store and we made tacos for dinner! Then of course, we started watching Emma again and of course, we didn’t stop until 3am and then of course we talked, except this time instead of stopping at 5am….we stopped at 7am lol. Oh boy. I didn’t care though. It was worth it to me. I soaked up every minute I had with her. She’s my best friend in the entire world. There was a time when I never would have believed that could ever happen, and all of my other friends were closer to me, but I can’t talk to them about certain things without getting judged, and a lot of the time I feel like they can’t accept certain aspects of who I am, or that they take me for granted because of my niceness sometimes. Rachel though, she never judges and nothing I do bothers her. She totally accepts me for me and makes me feel good to be me. No matter what happens, even if I lose my friends, I know I have her by my side for life. I am so blessed to have a sister like her ^_^ She’s the first person I call when I am feeling down, the one person who knows how to comfort me and say all the right things. She’s completely honest with me too! I just love her to pieces ^_^

She left this morning after taking me to drop my car off at the fixers. I am getting the air conditioning fixed since I can no longer stand the heat.

I miss her already!

Later today I have a call back to to go and Steve is letting me borrow his Mustang! Sooo cool! He’s super nice ^_^

Laters!
