borrrreeedddduuuuhhh

so i went to the gym today as usual, but afterwards i realized i had nothing to do! i didnt have to work today and julie was at school, and megan was doin her own thing in tacoma, and shawn was at work, and i was sure that josh and thomas were too. so i was alone.

i filled up my day finding things that needed to be done. buying groceries, picking up a mouse for roofus, picking up kyran from school, taking my dad to go pick up the excursion (it was being worked on) etc…

then i decided to make monte cristos for kyran and my dad just to DO something! it was my first time making them ,but i have watched how the cooks do it at mccormick woods and it seemed simple enough.

you take 3 pieces of bread layered on top of eachother, cut the crust off all the sides to make a white even square, then on each piece layer ham, provolone cheese, turkey and provolone cheese again! then you dip each side of the square into a french toast mixture (egg, milk, and cinnamon) then after the entire sandwich is completely coated, you put in the pan and cook it, flipping it over as each side finishes and viola!

sprinkle a little powdered sugar on it and put some strawberry or raspberry jam on the side and you are finished.

see, what you are supposed to do is cut off a piece of the sandwich with your fork and dip it into the jam before you eat it. absurd sounding yes, but it is DELICIOUS! the first time i ever had one i was a little weirded out by the idea of meat and cheese and jam tasting good together, but oh golly it does!

my dad was weirded out too when he saw what was on his plate but after his first bite he exclaimed "wow hannah! thats really good! where did you learn how to make this?"

and i beamed lol. kyran liked it too thank goodness! hes a very picky eater and it was definitely a challenge to win his stomache over. 
 
later i made myself one and then watched greys anatomy while i ate. i love that show. although the relationship between meredith and derick is pissing me off. well its mostly meredith thats pissing me off. derick loves her and yet shes always looking for reasons not to trust him , not to embrace the fact that she cares as well, because shes scared, and hes getting tired of trying so hard.

maybe i hate her because she reminds me too much of me. sigh, lol. gossip girl will be recording soon so i guess ill read a bit and then go watch that. maybe ill put a blanket out on the trampoline and read outside ^_^

*glances out the window* eh never mind, its already too dark and the bugs from the lake would be out in huge numbers by now lol.  night diary.
