random stuff + pictures!

ok so today i felt really bad cus i had to take my baby (my cat) to the vet. she had fleas and seemed depressed lately and wasnt acting herself, so i thought it was best that she get a check-up. now, i didnt name my cat sassy  for nothing, she IS one sassy girl! she is the cutest fluffiest sweetest mush until you dont give her what she wants and then shes a bitch. haha. but thats why i love her, i spoil her rotten and she has such a character for it! so obviously the trip to the vet was not good. she kept trying to get back in my lap or the cat carrier while the vet was trying to stick a thermometer up her behind (i mean i dont blame my cat for not liking it) and when she swiped at the vet she had the nerve to say "you should declaw that cat!" ugh it made me mad. vets are supposed to deal with any kind of pet, even angry ones! i mean for gosh sakes she was getting shots and a thermometer put up her furry butt!  id be angry too! and when i was petting her and trying to calm her down the vet told me not to touch her because it would stress her out and i was in the way of her doing her job. what a nerve. the vet i usually had was undergoing shoulder surgery and wouldnt be back for anotehr month or so. i just kept my mouth shut and cursed this vet under my breath. any who, here are some pictures of my baby sassy kitty!

i fluffed her hair out with my hands so she looks like a cute lion! she likes to sleep with me! ^_^

yah so theres my sweety! ok the other news! i tried on a slutty pirate costume today (maybe a little too slutty?) and i got a new cell phone after 2 years! ok ok , this cell phone i had was waaaay ghetto old, big, falling apart, no screen, no antenna, and cracked everywhere. this thing, if you dropped it on the carpet it would fall apart! so now finally i have an awesom new one! its a nokia 6315i! check it out yo! jennifer was the first caller on it congradulations jen! yea any who i realized after a long long time, that i never posted any more pictures of the dig! i cant believe i never did that! so, without further adue…here are a few pictures from when i was in central washington digging up a mammoth!
(for all of those who dont know, i was out there all summer digging up a 16,000 year old columbian mammoth for 8 weeks and it was hard work, but awesome!)

so yea

presenting, mammoth vertebre! the top one is the axis!

here is our dig site! you can see the camera crew, and some of my buds bootvaring some of the bones (painting a liquid plastic over them so that they dont fall apart when being taken out, the plastic is removed later on in the lab)
the man walking this way was our head archaeologist/paleontologist pat lubinski!

me on the left side of the dig area sifting some gravel from one of the units! i wouldnt want to sift it in the dig site because i wouldnt want dust and dirt flying everyhwhere! (which it did mostly on windy days, terrible stuff out there)
i happened to find some rodent teeth in this screen!

one of the last units i worked in. you cant tell from this picture but in that corner there are bones sticking out of the wall.  you seel all that cobble? this unit was over 6 feet deep. thats our 16,000 year old level believe it or not, and all of the bones was found on top of that luvium layer! there must have been a river bed of some sort then! sometimes, critters like huge funnel spiders and scorpions would drop in here and not be able to get out, so it was a pleasant surprise for us in the mornings haha.

this is one of the parking lots on central washington universitys campus that we left from at 7am every morning! those are the vans we rode in every day! gosh, good memories in those vans haha, very….VERY funny convorsations!

went over this bridge every day on our way to the dig site, beautiful isnt it???

other angle from the bridge, this is pretty much the terrain we worked in, all desert like. lots of tumbleweeds, very very very dusty and dry!

not only did we do dry sifting, but we did wet screening too! i found even more rodent bones in these screens! along with fools gold, quarts crystal, petrified wood, and agates! it was like finding treasure! this was the best and most wanted job because it was always over 90 degrees out there haha.

and so thats all the pics for today. if you want to see more pics of me or whatever theres a link to my myspace page on the front page of my diary! later peeps!
