a new chapter
a new boyfriend and then a new adventure! it took me 3 and a half hours to drive out to ellensburg and slowly the terrain went from trees, to bushes, to flat land, hills, and shrubs. yes ellensburg is in the dessert like area of eastern washington and very small. you can drive from one end to the other in 15 minutes. but i quickly found out that the main attraction is the college. it pretty much IS the town! its right in the center and during the school year has more than 10,000 students! That is probably why ellensburg has the most coffee places in one location in the world! college students loooove coffee! yes there are most likely more than 30 that ive seen so far. my room is about as big as my room at home. i have a very tall bed that is hard to get onto , but i have a very nice theraputic matris thanks to my mommy and my fridge and freezer and shelf are stocked with everything. milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, string cheese, sandwich meat, bread, lettuce, mayo, liquid vitamins (ew), cream cheese, bagels, toaster stroodle, frozen dinners, juice cans, coffee (its best kept fresh when frozen) an ice pack, an ice holder thingy, and then theres all my cereal and other snacks plus 200 dollars on my student food card. i really dont need all of this but my parents are afraid i might starve or something…..the cafeteria has pretty good food tho! today i went and got sushi there! SUSHI! not the kind you buy in a package, you actually get to choose what you want in it and they make it right in front of you! its pretty awesome. theres pretty much every type of food emaginable here and every fast food restauraunt. so ellensburg is houses, restauraunts, coffee places, and the college pretty much. the main store is fred myers. oh and they have an albertsons so thats cool. yea, i was about to think id be bored out of my mind until i met dane. hes almost 21 (his birthday is next month) and we get along pretty well! hes in my mammoth dig group too. so he showed me around the campus and the town and some of ellensburgs best kept hidaway secrets! i thought it was all dessert, but i was wrong! theres this road that takes you out to this park with a trail that leads you to this gorgeous waterfall in the middle of a wooded area! theres also these huuuuge towering rocks that look like sculptures (the kind you might see in the grand canyon) and they are stacked on top of eachother with flat tops. you can easily climb to the top (which is what we did) and its like you are at the top of the world! its a life changing experience let me tell ya. and that waterfall is something else! its too bad i forgot my camera because on the way back we ran into a porcupine! we had to wait till he went off of the trail haha. he was a cute little thing! when i called trevor to tell him about the day i found out something even more exciting! trevor saw a cougar! it jumped right in front of his car and went across the street! someone said to me, when i first moved here, that they saw a cougar in our yard one time, so i always wondered, and when trevor told me about the one he saw then i knew it was true! gosh im so jealous of him! im goin back on friday. i cant wait to see him and al lmy friends. i really cant wait till ppl come and visit me! it will be a blast! so far this week we have been learning about the artifacts and how to recognize an artifact so that we dont hammer through one or something, and how to map and about the history of the mammoth etc…. and starting monday we begin to dig! im stoked. well im gonna head over to fred myers and see if i can get an espresso machine since the one my parents gave me wont work worth crap. that sucks. later ppls.

Warning Comment
Hey, RYN, & thanks. But that’s not why I’m pissed, it’s really a long story. And she never knew about any of it either, but yeah she’d be pissed. We’re very weird best friends, it’s complicated.
