Milo *Edit with random pictures*

So here’s the entry about my favorite person ever, Milo, my cat.

When I was 6 or 7 years old my sister who was born on Christmas eve (my sisters and I were born on holidays oddly enough) wanted to have a girls sleepover in my Grandfathers trailer outside my parents yard in the driveway. So in mid December with snow all around my sisters and her friends went for a walk around 6 or 7 at night and on their walk a tuxedo  kitten came bouncing through the snow straight at them and jumped into Audreys arms. They brought the kitten with white snowshoes home to the trailer and told my parents. Milo would have to stay in the trailer until he could get tested for Leukemia as cats in our neighborhood were rampant with it and we had two cats at home already. The trailer had no heat and the girls quickly decided to go inside for the warmth and I immediately jumped on the chance to have a trailer and kitten to myself. For the rest of the weekend until the vet was open again I spent all my time with the little kitten who did flips and nibbled my ears. We tested the little guy and he was clean so I got to name my first animal since he was attached to me. I named him Milo from Milo and Otis.

My username is Milotamus obviously…well Milo was very fat  when he was 8-12ish and my joke as a teenager was that he was a Milo Hippopotamus, or Milotamus. A very sweet large animal that had never bit or scratched anyone in his life. He’s never even hissed at anyone. Every cat hisses at something but not Milo. He walks up to someone, meows in a ‘Mahh’ kind of way and stretches his legs out on your knees. He meets dogs face to face, turns his head, walks onto the dogs pillow and sleeps. He always sleeps on the edge of everything though. So as I grew up I had to be close to the edge of my bed to be the big part of the human/cat spoon and to this day I always sleep on the edge of my bed. I have a tempurpedic queen size bed and I sleep on the edge of my bed. I like to be comfy,  I fall asleep in the middle of the bed and still wake up on the edge of my bed ghost hugging a cat that is not there….

I’ve had to leave Milo at home as he doesn’t like moving and hates cars (the last time he was in a car he jumped on my sisters shoulders and peed down her back) and when I was 17 or 18 years old he got into the garage and rolled in a liquid weed killer that smelled sweet. He cleaned himself off and made himself deathly sick. My parents called me after they came back to their house with him from the animal hospital about 1am and I came over immediately (they didn’t call me until they knew he was okay, that still bothers me even though they were probably right to do so.). When I got there he was on the couch in the den and when he saw me he lifted his head an inch or two and let out a squeak instead of a meow and started purring. I gave him water from my palm and put him on my belly. I never took animals for granted after that. I volunteer at a cat shelter because of him and I’m glad that he’s still my friend.

Milo is a ripe 19-20 years old now and still follows me around wherever I go, flopping on my feet when I’m brushing my teeth and asking to be picked up whenever I look bored. Without a doubt I’ve had more contact with him than anything else in my life.

*Edit*

So here’s a picture of Milo doing my homework with me. 🙂 Then other random pictures I found from my photobucket account that I apparently have…

This last picture is my proof that I am not photogenic in the slightest. This is from an epic hike in Eastern Washington and I’m in the middle of a cloud at the moment. I really don’t feel like I look like any of the pictures taken of me. Plus my hair has a weird floop in it…

I hope we can see Milo’s pictures soon. I was worried that something bad happened to him when i read the part about the weed killer. Thank God he’s saved.

I love how he has a little black chin like a beard. It’s cool. And please, you’re definitely photogenic.

ryn: I think most people feel they aren’t very photogenic. Unless the person is extremely into their self, I think the general feeling is that no one takes good pictures.
