Comic book movies
Darn high blood pressure running in my family! My diet and exercise routine has to be stricter and higher than a normal person’s to keep it in check. This does not go well during this holiday season of delicious homemade buffets, haha
Also doesn’t go well with my current work situation. I will not go into that again, in fact I didn’t want to mention it again but it weighs so heavily on my mind I can’t help but to! Especially in a "diary", so I’m entitled to my whining and complaining 😛
So I will talk about something that makes me happy: comic books! Haha, I just think I’m really in a comic book mood because my wife got me the canvas prints for Xmas, and I got myself the Lego Marvel game during Black Friday. It’s a cool game, definitely good for kids so I envision my son and I playing that game years from now
Also yesterday my buddy, Chris, sent us an Xmas gift all the way from Korea! He’s stationed there at the moment. He got us the Avengers movie collection set that has all the Avengers movies in a briefcase through Avengers 1. I already had all of the movies except Iron Man 1 and Thor, but now I definitely have them all! Haha, I probably won’t even open the collection set, makes it worth more later on if you keep it in mint condition. Yep definite sign of a comic book nerd to know that 😛
I also envision my son will be old enough to be really into comic book characters and movies by the time Avengers 3 rolls around
Which reminds me, I was joking with my boss earlier this week (darn mentioning work again! But he’s a huge comic book fan too) after I learned that the X-Men series will follow-up "Days of Future Past" with "Apocalypse". Which is huge if you know X-Men comics, so in my conversation with my boss I pointed out:
When you tally it all up, Marvel Studios has lined up:
– The X-Verse (a cinematic universe revolving around the X-Men series) – Days of Future Past, Fantastic Four, X-Force, Deadpool, and Apocalypse
– The Marvel Cinematic Universe – planned through Phase 3, so upcoming is: Captain America 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, 2 unnamed movies, and Avengers 3
– The Amazing Spider-Man series – building up the Sinister Six. Lizard was in the last movie, Electro, Rhino, and Green Goblin introduced in the upcoming sequel, with hints at Vulture and Doctor Octopus in the future
Meanwhile, DC Comics has compiled:
– Ben Affleck
– A really skinny girl from Fast and Furious whom no one recognizes
moral of the story: They say it’s quality over quantity. But when you remove Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy from existence and bring in Ben Affleck, you basically threw the ‘quality’ out the window
Have a Nice Day!
