Don’t take the elevator!
In my list of top ten pet peeves, I would definitely put ‘people who take the elevator to go up/down one floor’. I just don’t get it. I mean I’ve had my moments in life when I was a lazy bastard, but an elevator for one flight of stairs?
It’s happened to me too often at my job. And of course every vacation we’ve been on where we stay at a hotel. I mean the people wait in the lobby with everyone else, and there’s a lot of people. Then we squeeze as many people as possible in an elevator. The unfortunate patron who gets positioned by the buttons is then instructed by everyone else
"Could you press ‘5’ please?"
"8 please"
"Could you press 10?"
"14 please"
"2 please"
What? Two? Out of 20 stories, you waited minutes for an elevator, squeezed in with everyone else and possibly left others to wait for another elevator, to go one floor? Use the damn stairs!
I know there’s exceptions to this pet peeve, being elderly people, disabled people, parent with a baby in a stroller, but those exceptions aren’t always the case
moral of the story: I believe if two-story houses were required to have an elevator, these people’s stairs would be filled with cobwebs and dust
Have a Nice Day!
