The benefit of low alcohol tolerance
It’s been a long work week, and my wife has been driving me crazy with her over planning of this weekend’s baby shower. Oh her need to have everything precisely perfect always confuses me. I mean thanks to her our parties are the best and everyone loves them and want us to host more, but she could never sit back and let anyone throw a party for her. It’s her baby shower, she shouldn’t be working to appease the guests attending when it’s being held for her (I don’t say me because I know it’s primarily for the mom to bask in the spotlight)
My point is: I crave a beer rita! I probably won’t be able to get my hands on one until tomorrow night or Sunday at the earliest with all this party planning/prepping going on. And going with my previous entry this week about my newly found low alcohol tolerance, I remember this advice my brother gave me about being a parent before I was even engaged…
"Forget beer, drink hard liquor so the buzz can get to you faster because you won’t have much time to drink before the kids wake up from a nap"
Eureka! I’ve got it! With my first kid soon-to-be arriving, my 10-12 hour work days, and having to learn the routine of being a parent, I’m going to be going insane! I’ll need a quick buzz, and I won’t have to down hard liquor for it! I could get tipsy from a single beer!
And no, I won’t be an alcoholic father who gets wasted while handling an infant, haha. I clearly wrote ‘buzz’ and ‘tipsy’, and I’m not implying this will be an every day occurrence 😛
moral of the story: Always do sober what you said you’d do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut
Have a Nice Day!
