One chance at Frogger

I wrote an entry a couple weeks back about a person stupid enough to stop on a railroad track with an oncoming train approaching, hoping for the traffic to move so he can get in front of the train. The other option was reversing off the tracks since no one was behind him. Basically he played ‘train roulette’ and won

I was reminded yesterday of a worse trend in my beloved city of Houston when it comes to traffic. Yet again (yes ‘again’, as in this is not an isolated incident), someone was killed trying to walk across the freeway. The freeways in Houston have 60-65 mph speed limits, but realistically everyone is going around 10 mph over those when traffic allows. Houston freeways also have an exit ramp about every mile or three-quarters of a mile.

So where’s the logic in trying to walk across the highway? It’s a guarantee there’s an exit ramp every mile or so you could walk down and cross under the bridged part of the highway.

Honestly though, when they report these stories they always claim they’ll follow-up when the information is available, but never do. I’m thinking these incidents must involve suicidal tendencies, which would be why there’s no follow-up. The family wouldn’t want that news spread everywhere

People are always complaining about the bad influence of the Grand Theft Auto games. What about Frogger? Apparently it’s influence continues to spread throughout generations! 😛

moral of the story: Train > car, car > human. Size does matter! Momentum too 😛

Have a Nice Day!
