I don’t watch TV
I constantly see fb updates about TV shows and their quotes. I go shopping with my wife and see all kinds of tv show memorabilia being sold. My friends keep insisting, since they know me and my taste of genres, I watch certain shows. Even a repairman in my house the other day wouldn’t stop talking to me about these shows.
Supposedly I should be watching "Breaking Bad", "Walking Dead", "Duck Dynasty", "Weeds", "Dexter", "The Dome", etc
But I don’t because I don’t know what channels any of them are on. And when I thought about it, I don’t really watch TV. Technically I watch my DVR, haha. And when looking at the shows we’ve set to record, there’s only a few:
The Voice (my wife got me hooked, haha)
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
South Park
Family Guy
Whose Line
I’m pretty sure I’d fail any quiz on current pop culture. I need South Park to start their new season so I can be caught up! haha. Well their new season did start, but I didn’t watch it. I have it on DVR though! 😛
My daily routine doesn’t really give me much time for TV. I wake up at 4:45am, leave by 5:15am for work (to beat traffic). Get home by about 5:30pm. Then it’s random chores (cleaning/laundry/dishes), then maybe make dinner depending on whose turn, followed by dinner with the wife by 6:30-7. Then it’s whatever activity we do together that night (especially now since she’s pregnant, got to keep her happy, haha). About 8:15-8:30 I start my running/exercise. Then 9pm it’s shower time, get ready for bed and make my lunch for the next day
If my wife decides to just sit around that night to watch tv, it’s either a recording of the above show (or re-runs of it), or she’ll have the channel on E! (man I hate reality shows, especially the Kardashians). Sometimes we’ll have the channel on TruTV to watch World’s Dumbest and whatever random funny show they have
And my brother warns me I’ll miss watching television when my son is born in a few months. What’s there to miss? Out of all the shows on TV, I try to keep up with 5 shows (keyword: TRY, doesn’t mean I actually do). I doubt I’ll miss it
moral of the story: Television has changed the American child from an irresistable force to an immovable object
Have a Nice Day!
