Entry of some kind

Wow the summer just flew by and I haven’t really written anything. Our oldest son went back to Fargo last week for college.  Summer has ended for him.  I am not sure if the summer flew by for him.  It seemed to have just gone by.  We didn’t do alot he worked full time for the most part.  We did a few things over the 4th but for the most part it was a relaxing, enjoyable, cooler summer.  We didn’t turn our air conditioner on the whole month of July and maybe a few days in August when it was in the 90’s and that is about it for the air this summer.  It was nice to have the windows open for the most part.  We enjoyed it but the nights did get cool.  I am just wondering what the winter will be like here.  Hopefully we will get a break this year and not have much snow or cold!  Our younger son will start school on Monday.  He is going to the local Technical college for Criminal Justice.  He wants to be a cop.  He is not very motivated so this will either change him or he will quit. Will be interesting to see what happens with him.  He is looking forward to it and has a nice schedule done most days by 1 or 2.  This is the 1st time in a long time we have no kids in the school district.  I feel lost and out of the loop but glad I don’t have to deal with calling school and stuff like that.

Been working about 12 hours a week still.  Was hoping for more and am still looking for something else part time.  Nothing has come up so I keep on keeping on.  Not many jobs in this area especially if you have no experience.  I should say most of the jobs in the paper don’t require experience but they are not what I would want to do for any length of time.  I guess I am lucky for right now that I can pick and choose.  Nothing worse than going to work for a place and hating it or not fitting in.

Hubby blew out his knee in July.  He tore his ACL, MCL and apart of the menicus.  He had surgery on the other knee last November.  They really don’t want to do surgery because of his age (48) but he doesn’t want to limit his activities, basketball, bowling, golfing, biking and with a bad knee he would have to do that.  So we sit and wait and try to figure out what is best and he is hoping for surgery even though it is a long process.  After the surgery is 6-9 months of physical therapy.  He thinks he can have it done in half that time.  This is a guy who can’t sit still and loves to play basketball everyday.  he wants nothing more than to get out there and play basketball now! So we will see how things go when he goes back to the surgeon after Labor Day.

Other than that, there is nothing else exciting in my life.  I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.  Life will only tell.

Have a great day!

Hi there! Just saw your note on Heidi’s diary and noticed you’re also a fellow Wisconsinite, so I thought I’d stop by … I too am from northcentral WI … Sounds like you had a full summer. It seems like it went by so fast here, too. I can’t believe the kids have been back in school for a month already [I have a son in 5th grade] and fall is here in full force. In fact, we had 21 degrees here when I woke up this morning. That’s almost more like WINTER! :-o)
