Problems

I sure hope we are not going to get screwed on this bailout!  I still hold the people and banks responsible for this. Not living within your means, come on people!  YOu should know better, it’s simple math and we all learned in high school.  But that is the American dream live like there is no tomorrow.  Hell live for today!  All I can say is I wish I was buying my home for the first time.  There are some great deals out there.

We live in the conservative midwest so we were not hit so hard. My husband has  a great job (for now) and makes great money.  But we all know that could end tomorrow.  We live all the time like he is going to get laid off.  We have been doing it for about 18 years.  It sucks.  But we are prepared.  He works in the supercomputer field and we all know how technology is.  He isn’t even doing what he went to school for and that is a computer programmer.  I am sure things have changed in the last 22 years since he has gone to school.  But we will manage.  Our youngest son is a senior.  If we have to move he can stay here with family and just live out the rest of this year.  That is all we asked for when we started this job.  To make till the kids get out of school.

Anyway on a lighter note I started volenteering at my sister in laws school.  It happens to be the same school my kids went to.  She teaches first grade and no parents will come in and read to the kids.  So I told her I would on the days I don’t work.  She said that works out.  The kids are cute and eager to learn. Of course I only deal with them for about 5 minutes each.  But they are little darlings.

Our older son is adjusting well to pre-pharmacy this year.  He is not going to apply for the pharmacy school this January because he doesn’t fell he did well enough on the PCAT.  So since there is only two years of pre-pharmacy next year he is going to take pre-med classes and then whoever accepts him first is where he will go. I really think the kids wants to go to school for the rest of his life!  I told him last week I was buying a lottery ticket and he told me if you win I can take my time thru school.  Never anything about quitting school just wanting to take his time.  LOL  I thought it was cute!

But I guess you have to follow your dreams and his is to work in the medical profession.  I just hope he is not biting off more than he can chew.  I don’t want him to get so far in debt and then become a teacher.  Not that there is anything wrong with teaching, he just doesn’t need a crapload of debt on a teachers salary.

The days are getting shorter and cooler.  In a way it was nice at first but now I can’t get used to the cold.  I hate shaking all the time.  And it will be exspensive heating the house this year.  Makes me glad we don’t have a McMansion.  I want to be warm.  The colors are getting pretty around here too.  They are just beginning to change.  This is my favorite time of the year.

We also just finished remodeling our master bath. It turned out nice and now we are looking for carpeting.  When we built our house 11 years ago they sold carpet by the yard.  Now they sell it by the sq. foot.  Much more exspensive now then it was then.  Of course when you are building you get builders prices too.

The birds are really busy in the back yard.  I didn’t get any hummingbirds this year at all.  We had a very cool summer.  We had two days with 90 degrees and that is it.  It was not even that humid this year.  Wonder how the winter will be.  I told everyone we are still thawing out from last winter that is why it didn’t warm up.

Well must run our younger son got a job and he gets a actual paycheck now.  I want to take him to the bank and show him how to do the paper work.  Half goes in savings half in checking and a little spending money.  I think he will start to like his job know that he is seeing he gets rewarded for it.  Let’s hope anyway.

Have a great fall y’all!

I am with you on the bailout. We that have lived within our means have to do this because others haven’t.

Hi stranger, it’s been a while since I said hi. Glad to know things are going fairly well for you & yours. Hope all continues to be stable. who knows where the country is going. We have had our fairly new home on the market for 9 months & have dropped our price $50,000. I hope we are able to sell soon.
