Eventful weekend

Our weekend was very eventful to say the least.  I worked Saturday morning and got out of there by 12:30 and ripped up to the lake.  My sisters and SIL’s were just heading out in the Pontoon for what they called a bitch cruise.  So I joined them.  We slowly went around the lake and enjoyed our time.  It was very nice.  Got back and my brother was cooking two turkey’s on the grill.  We all brought a dish to pass and then sat down and had a really nice dinner.  I am sure my parents liked it as it was their 50th last month and we kept telling them we would get together and do a family dinner.  Turned out nice.
Then on Sunday my friend was having a "End of summer party".  It started out fun and was nice and relaxing.  Until the guys started playing football.  My best friends hubby was jumping the fences (since everyone in their neighborhood has fences) to get the football.  He said, "I only do this twice".  On the second time he got his foot caught in the fence and landed on his head.  He tried to get up and said this is not good.  Needless to say we had to call and ambulance.  He is not paralyzed but he has a spinal cord injury.  He can move and that is all good, but they are keeping an eye on him.  He has really sore shoulders he said.  He was on so much pain medication he couldn’t tell them where he hurt so they let it slide a little on Sunday and he said his shoulders hurt.  It could have been alot worse that is for sure.  He got out of the hospital on Tuesday, so they kept him in for a couple of days and he has to go back for an MRI in a couple of weeks to check to see if the swelling has gone down.  You know how guys are, they think they are headed right back to work.  We will see.  I think he has a desk job so it might be ok. 
Monday we just took it easy and I got some stuff done around here.  I was glad it was an early night Sunday night.  I ended up cleaning my girlfriends kitchen up so she wouldn’t come home to a mess.  Hopefully she didn’t because some of the neighbors stayed until 2 a.m. 
Well I just got done eating and I need to run to Sam’s club and maybe even walmart.  I just got back from the grocery store and we just paid tuition.  I feel very poor and broke.  Not used to dishing out that much money at one time.  Heck taxes are always a big deal.  Hopefully that kid gets some student loans next year.  I told him to start looking into scholorships.  If he does well in school maybe he can apply for something.  I am not familiar with them since I didn’t go to college.
