Once Upon a Time in the Projects

I can’t believe today was a good day. Just like the Ice Cube song.

Although, more like yesterday, or day before… Hell: Saturday night and Sunday morning. My sleep schedules really make it difficult to communicate.

I saw friends Saturday night after a long academic isolationism. It was a nice gathering. Nothing amazing or ridiculous. But it was something at least. It was good to see amanda again. It is a shame to not see her more often (ya hear that amanda, I’m actually not being a sarcastic asshole for a change).

“With half damp eyes I stared into the room
Where my friends and I spent many an afternoon,
Where we together weathered many a storm,
Laughing and singing ’till the early hours of the morn.”

Aw, I bet Jain (my friend’s 2-year old daughter for those fools who have forgotten) was so adorable as Sleeping Beauty tonight… last night… whatever:  for Halloween. Too bad I wasn’t there to sing Once Upon a Dream with her.

This morning I had a luncheon with Holocaust survivors at the Beverly Hills Hotel. That’s right, I was straight-up classy. And I got to dance some good dancing. Not to mention a slow dance to Unchained Melody; it had probably been 3 or so years since I had a true slow dance. Not to mention, I did all this dancing on 1 hour of sleep after the gathering with my friends. I am awesome. (Even though I missed my carpool and had to drive myself because I slept a little too late)

And now it’s 2:30a.m. Monday morning. I have a rough-draft paper on 18th Century Russia/St. Petersburg to write by 1p.m. This will be fun. Time to get reacquainted with the quietly beautiful a.m. hours.

Sometimes. I don’t want to die.

you know you say it’s a shame you do not see me as often…as if that were just how things were. unchangably are. but they are not that way. we both have cars. we both live near enough within the same county. we both have telephones of some sort. and im not protesting seeing my david when he has the time. at some point you must have the time. but ah i suppose it really comes down to a matter of

PLEASE! Sing Once Upon a Dream for me. The thought of that seriously nearly made me cry. My eyes actually welled up with tears. Sleeping Beauty is my absolute all time favorite.
