watching telly

me and tony have had our domestic bliss cruelly snatched away from us, as three other people have turned up (that being lucy, claire and charlotte). wail! the house is all crowded now. i want to be anti-social for another week, crouching under my blanket in my room with the lights off, watching the planet’s funniest animals with a facial tic and eating cold spaghetti hoops.

okay, maybe not then.

today i have been mostly watching telly. the end of the borrowers and the delicious toy story, the hollyoaks 1000th episode, the simpsons, something about charlie dimmock helping some woman build a big park, and yes, dear readers, i ever stooped to the sickening low that was fame academy – the david sneddon story.

i’m sorry.

we ordered a takeaway tonight. i had about two mouthfuls and just felt ill. what a waste of dosh! and i can’t even put it in the fridge and eat it tomorrow because i gave it to tony who then wolfed the lot down.

i need to go and finish this bit of revision that i’m want to get out of the way before tomorrow. claire’s probably after me – claire is so right wing it would drive herbert spencer (social darwinist who coined the phrase ‘survival of the fittest’) to say ‘perhaps you should be a little more compassionate..’. so yesterday i pinned up a socialist alliance leaflet that we got through the letterbox on her bedroom door – with the words:

claire hills says – keep the red flag flying!

David Sneddon sounds like the name of a road haulage company from Derbyshire.

Spaghetti hoops are my hangover cure, you know. They never fail. I can’t say I’ve ever eaten them cold though.. And David Sneddon? I heard my dad watching that earlier (in his defence he only turned over to see the news on Teletext, but still) and almost vomited. And I watched Fame Academy.. xxxxx

Planet’s funniest animals? I thought it was America’s Funniest Animals? Woo, I wasn’t paying attention afterall, I feel somewhat relieved.

Keep the red flag flying? Is that some kind of period reference? And David Sneddon’s Life Story. . . That actually made me smirk, just reading such a programme existed. A smirk is quite a feat by the way, so don’t be too disheartened about your comedic levels.
