gridlock in congress

ooh, i’ve just been to see the film how to lose a guy in ten days. me and tony felt that we needed something a bit brainless since we’ve been cramming our minds about gridlock in congress (me) and mathematics and various other hard things (that’s tony, because he’s doing an meng in engineering). it was an above average rom-com, really. pretty harmless, very funny in places and well observed, not badly acted, low on the ultra-cheese scale. if you can believe such impossible premises (woman who wants to find a man to date and consequently dump within ten days just-so-happens to meet a man who has bet with his company that he can get any girl to fall in love with him) it’s a really enjoyable movie.

i didn’t get much work done today as yesterday, alas. i was burnt out by two in the afternoon. it’s nice to know there’s still a large part of student idleness in me somewhere.

everyone will be coming back soon, for the start of term. lucy’s coming back on sunday evening, i’m not sure when jack and claire are coming back – and the rest – well, i hope they stay away as long as possible. i prefer the house quiet. it’s so weird, it being just me and tony, we’re like some bizarre overworked married couple that can only exchange hellos over breakfast and tea before we’re dashing off somewhere else (me, usually to the computer room, so I can talk to keg and write in here and whatnot. tony usually buggers off to the gym).

one thing that is aiding my revision though… the television over easter is shite! sacrilege!

Hey musical sock, what tune do you play?

My girlfriend wants to go and see that – she says we never go to the cinema and see something she wants to see that I don’t. So, I’ll take her to see that. I only hope it’s as you say it is, and not as shite-awful as I am dreading.

I do want to see that film. It looks cheesy and predictable, but we all need cheesy and predictable films in our lives 🙂 xxxxx
