self pity/indulgence

i woke up this morning feeling like death. so i weakly pressed the number two on my speed dial and whined for forty-five minutes to my mother about feel awful. as usual, she’s a star in such situations. “oh you poor thing, what with your essays and exams coming up and everything. you stay tucked up in bed and have a real easy day, and i’ll post you some things to make you feel better.” fabulous. already i felt better, what with the sympathy medicine and everything. so i chucked some clothes on and dragged myself out to costcutter, where i did some serious self-pitying purchases (purely medicinal, of course). the bastards stung me for eight quid! i bought:

lucozade, two bottles
strawberry frijj milkshake, two bottles
strepils (extra), one packet
ready brek, one box
(although it’s not as good since they took the dragon off the box)
milk, two pints worth
kleenex balsam, three packets

i’ve consumed half of that stuff and i feel much better now. it cost me bloody enough.

i need to go to the library to research my sociology essay. it’s a twenty-five minute walk. in the rain. whimper.

Strawberry milkshake is the god of all milkshakes. Mm. And if you’re ill surely you have a good reason not to walk in the rain?

You’re diary works again! Woo hoo! Anyway, get well soon; the Lucozade should do the trick. RYN: My definition of Machiavellian is basically defined by the template set up by the character Iago from Othello. If you’ve read that you’ll know what I’m on about. Otherwise, I consider it a figure that manipulates others for their own benefit – that’s Machiavellian to me.

Great minds think alike. I too have a cold (or something), so I whined to my mum, and did the compulsory “I’m ILL!!” shopping. If nothing else, it’s a fantabulous excuse to watch crap movies and eat junk food! Great, innit?! Feel lots better soon!
