clearly, Madame Giry,,,
Genius has turned to madness.
That’s the funny thing about genius, you know. It’s like a terminal disease. It eats away at you. Maybe it’s just the stress of high expectations. Or maybe it’s the pain of knowing that these people will never understand what you’re trying to say. Egotistical? Most certainly. But when you’re given a gift and you have to watch it be wasted and know that you’re trying in vain, because they will never understand…There is nothing worse than a life lived in vain.
Does genius truly turn to madness? I don’t know. Maybe they just get tired of trying and trying to make them understand and give up. Maybe they become desperate, seeing their wasted talent. But aren’t we all desperate?
I’m afraid this doesn’t make much sense.
