I dreamed I saw the silver spaceships flying…

I detest the word "feelings."  It’s a word with which humanity shrouds itself, trying to make itself something more than the stupid beasts that have walked this planet longer than us.

I think what irritates me most about "feelings" though, is the sheer amount of stress caused by them.  Love, hate, depression, anger, sorrow, guilt…"Does she love me?"  "I am depressed, I cannot continue living."  Love is not real.  It is not tangible.  It is an idea.  An idea created by humanity because humans need to feel that they are somehow superior.  It could be argued that other animals feel emotions, but only humans emphasize them to the point that one is a total failure at life if he can’t achieve "love."

It’s difficult for me to articulate what I want to say.  Emotion supposedly makes us human, along with a few anatomical adjustments.  But I think emotion is really the result of humans having too much free time.  Or, rather, having a large brain but too little to do with it.

Emotions are not natural.  No other species exhibits compassion.  Altruism in nature is simply a way of increasing reproductive success.

It’s frustrating when you know what you want to say but can’t spit it out.
