self-disgust is self-obsession.

I feel vaguely revolutionary tonight.  In the mood to go against the established norm.  Post a political rant.  Complain about the president.  Spout worthless communistic and socialistic propaganda.  Boast to others about my extreme left ideology.  Maybe write angry political poetry.  I’m not much of a poet.

Anyone can be a revolutionary these days and still make it home for dinner.  It’s not fair.  There’s nothing risky about being a revolutionary in America.  The Bill of Rights says I won’t get shot for expressing my opinion.  Pity about that.

I love "punks."  They like to make a statement by dressing and acting outlandishly.  But what statement are they making?  The worst thing that will happen is that their peers will mock them or their parents will ground them.  So much for standing up against American Consumerism, Capitalism, and the Right.  No one gives a shit.  Let’s see you make that same statement in a country where they don’t have a bill of rights.

The bill of rights is turning Americans into inane cowards.  Because we’re guaranteed so much, there’s nothing left to fight for.  So people pick trifles to fight for.  Like the gay marriage amendment.  Do they really think that such a frivolous thing should go into the same document that gives us freedom of speech and religion?  How is gay marriage as important as the freedom from unwarranted search and seizure?  No one cares.  But they want something to fight about.  But while they’re gallantly presenting their controversial opinions, they’re hiding behind the freedoms already given to them.  It’s sickening.

And…I’m rambling.
