It’s a bad religion from a broken nation
I don’t feel like being deep and meaningful today (as if I ever am) so I’ll just bitch for awhile.
First: Graduation and overexcited seniors. Now, I can understand how they feel some amount of excitement. I mean, I’m graduating too. But I’m getting tired of scrubby, mediocre, 170th-in-a-class-of-226 seniors crowing about their impending graduation. My principal gave the seniors a pizza party because of out supposedly excellent standardized test scores. People grabbed entire boxes of pizza leaving none for about half the class. One of my “friends” had a whole pizza to herself. When an underclassman asked for a piece she said, “Hell no! The seniors have earned this!” Which was true. But she didn’t. Her test scores were average at best. It annoyed me. Obviously. Ooh, you’re a senior. You’re still a mediocre, boring, loserly shitface. Just like you were 4 years ago. Bitch.
Second: Mainstream music and tredy-indies. A girl in my biology class was condemning mainstream music and everyone who listens to it. She proudly listed off some obscure bands she listens to. All the while sitting in her name brand jeans and trendy GAP sweater. I don’t listen to much mainstream music because I think it’s of a poor quality. She doesn’t listen to it just because it’s popular. The quest for individuality is never ending…but aren’t identical twins looked on as a bit of an oddity? Anyway, as I pointed out to her, the only thing worse than a Trendy is a Trendy-Indie. She didn’t appreciate that much, really.
That’s all for now…I’m sure something else will irritate me soon enough.
