Kitty

I just realized I wrote a while back about my kitty and how he wasn’t doing too well, and then never updated on that. So here’s what happened.

It got to the point where we were taking him in about every other day to get the shots, and it was still helping him feel better, but for shorter and shorter amounts of time. The vet finally suggested that we learn how to give him the shots at home, so the next time he needed a shot, we took him in and she showed us how.

That time, the shot didn’t have any effect at all. He didn’t even feel better for a couple hours or anything, and had stopped eating completely. We tried one time to give him the shot at home, but it made him freak out so badly that we decided not to do it anymore. Since he wasn’t eating or drinking, we figured we should just make him comfortable for his last few days. He was really thin and weak, but he was still wanting to cuddle, and purring, so we decided not to really do anything one way or another, and if he got to a point where he was in pain, then we would take him in to be put to sleep.

So a few days went by, and he didn’t eat or drink, and basically stayed curled up on a blanket all the time, not really wanting to move. Then he got better. He started drinking water and nibbling at his food. That was a couple weeks ago, and since then he’s back to eating normally, and he has some energy. He’s still very thin, and not completely well, but definitely a lot better than he was.

So we have no idea what happened at all. This is kind of what happened last year, too, where he got really sick, and we resigned ourselves to the fact that he was going to die, and then he just randomly got better. Which makes me wonder if it’s a seasonal thing or something like that. It’s very weird.

But anyway, he’s better for now, so that’s the story.
