Argh! People

Ok, so you know how I said the new job was great because I like everyone I work with? Well, not so true anymore.

I work in a room with 3 other temps, who have all been there a little while. One of the girls is really starting to piss me off. I don’t know if I can properly explain why she’s so annoying, but I’ll try.

First of all, she’s an interrupter. I can’t stand people who start talking when someone else is in the middle of talking. So one of the other two will be in the middle of saying something to me, and then she starts talking to me at the same time, so then I end up having to be rude to someone because I’m not going to listen to both of them. And she always talks louder than everyone else, so I can’t actually hear the person who was talking to me first.

Then there’s the fact that what she’s interrupting to say is complete and utter crap. I’m very into politics, and so is one of the other people, so we talk about it sometimes (all 4 of us agree mostly, so we’re not offending anyone). Except the guy I talk to about politics is actually informed, reads the news, etc., but this girl has probably never read a newspaper in her life, and seems to have all her information from "this girl who called into the radio this morning," or some equally reliable source.

So not only is she interrupting a perfectly good conversation–she’s usually wrong.

Then there’s the fact that she thinks she’s supposed to train me. Granted, there is no training program at this job, and I’m mostly on my own to figure it out, so if I need help, I’m supposed to ask questions, but the operative word there is IF I need help. For example, I finally got my login stuff for the computer on friday, so I was setting up my e-mail. I asked a really simple question about the address book, because it’s different everywhere you work. So someone answered my question, and I was getting ready to send an e-mail, and she said "you need to click on send."

I think that God puts people like this in my path to test the whole "love thy neighbor" thing. But seriously. This girl has problems. I want to keep venting about her, but I think I’m starting to get boring, so I’ll stop.
