A Jar of Balloons Survey, Volume 2

1. When was the last time you wrote a hand-written letter that was not a greeting card?
wow. Not recently. Unless you count writing little notes in my book before I sent it off to ppl who bought it.

2. What is your method for dealing with coins? Spend as you go? Hoard? Roll?
spend or give them to the boys

3. What celebrities do people insist that you look just like? Is the resemblance such that when you hear "You know who you look just like?" and see the person’s finger begin to wag you can supply the name or names yourself? Do you supply the name or names yourself or give the person the pleasure of recognition?
ugh. Don’t ask. Someone told me I look like this girl from one of those crime shows. Just bc she had bangs and glasses. Dennis seemed pretty appalled. Lol

 um, gee thanks.
*she’s lovely in her own way (i don’t want to insult her either!) but i found it insulting that these people i’d known for years only saw me as this chick with glasses and bangs and blonde hair (and apparently they thought i weighed more than i did.) also, i guess they thought i was quirky maybe? they said something about her being funky too, if i’m remembering right.
4. What is the most money you’ve ever found on a sidewalk or a street?
not sure. Not much.

5. In which stores have you imagined having shopping sprees?
oh goodness. The Gap, H&M, Old Navy, Le Chateau, Neiman Marcus, A Pea in the Pod (maternity)…

6. What’s your theory on why the martini glass is shaped the way it is?
I think all liquor glasses look different. There must be a good reason and I’m guessing it’s for the bartenders, so they know how much to put in the glass (champagne is more expensive and maybe will get you drunk faster but is often served where you don’t want to have a lot of drunks so the glasses are smaller, beer stines are bigger bc they’re often in bars etc, wine glasses are prob shaped the way they are for smelling and swirling the wine, martini glasses need to be pretty big to put in all the ingredients…)

7. What is the oldest object (man-made) you’ve ever held? Biggest vehicle you’ve ever driven?
no idea. Ummm a truck?

8. Which of the earth’s creatures would you least like to see granted a set of wings? An alligator? A shark? A snake? Which of the earth’s creatures would you most like to see granted a set of wings? The turtle?
I don’t think I’d want to see a shark or an alligator fly. Who wants them landing on you?

9. Did you go through phases (tye-dyed tee shirts and reggae music, then goth, then jock, say), or have you been mostly the same over the course of your life?
I did a grunge look in HS (tomboyish), girly girl as well and now I’m pretty girly but I do the yoga mom look too.

10. What was your best Halloween costume?
prob none. I’m not very into Halloween.

11. When you imagine your own funeral, does the thought of certain acquaintances in the same room worry you?
nope. Who cares? I won’t know!
12. Have you ever picked up a hitchhiker? Have you ever been a hitchhiker?
No. Hitchhiking is stupid.

13. Can you recall the first time you saw snow, or was it something you were born into, a blurry awareness that snow was a feature of this world you lived in? If you didn’t grow up with snow, did you first feel it or see it out a window?
ugh. Always there.

14. How many telephone numbers have you had in your lifetime? How many addresses?
I haven’t had that many. I lived in my parents’ house, with a friend at her apt for a while (no phone), in a dorm, in 2 apartments, at my sister’s house, another apartment during my master’s, an apartment with Dennis, a house with Dennis, and we have bought 2 houses since. My parents’ house between school years.

15. How old is the oldest piece of clothing that’s still in your rotation?
I don’t know. A few years?

16. When did you cease calling your mother "Mommy"?
No clue.

17. In grade school, did you raise your hand a lot? Did it snap up almost against your control, or did you look around first and then raise it slowly, like a periscope peeking out of water?
I am the type who has to know the answer before I raise my hand.

I don’t generally break things bc I think “I’ll just have to clean it up”

19. Have you ever received a loud ovation in a public place after dropping something?

no. I have stage fright.
22. What is the fastest you’ve ever traveled in a car?
hahaha

23. What was the first thing you ever wanted to be when you grew up?
Vet, I think.

24. Can you recall a place that’s prompted you to say, "This is, without doubt, the prettiest place I’ve ever been"?
hmmm. I liked the Dominican. The Bruce Peninsula is pretty (here in Ontario.)

25. Is there anything you can’t do that most people can (swim, ride a bicycle, drive, snap your fingers, whistle, wink)?
Drive
Dennis can’t snap.

A Jar of Balloons Survey, Volume 5

1.) Which chemicals’ smells do you like?

9.) What colors have you painted rooms?
oh my. We repainted EVERy room in our first house. We’ve repainted 5 rooms in this house so far. The kitchen is next. There’s a good sale on paint right now so Dennis is picking up some.
*by WE, I mean I pick the colour and Dennis paints haha I let him have input on colour. I have a board that I put all the colours on so I know which rooms will be which colours and how to accessorize.

10.) When eating out, do you prefer, in general, to face the crowd or the wall?
The crowd. Back to wall if possible but in all cases, I prefer a booth.

11.) Are you a person who has certain items that are unequivocally yours (a coffee mug, a side of the bed, a chair, a place at the table)?
Very much so. I have a certain spot that I WILL kick you out of on the couch. I don’t care who you are. We all have spots at the table. We have sides of the bed. I sit in certain spots at theatres. I have a spot at my parents’ house. I am very particular. I used to have a certain bowl. We have our own shampoos and body washes and toothpaste (only bc I have sensitive teeth and the boys have kid toothpastes.) Beau and I share a brush though! Yay for sharing LOL (he does have his own too)

Pass it along!

20.) How many people have you called your best friend?
not many. I don’t think you can trust just anyone.

21.) Does your alarm clock wake you with noise or radio?

re: he works at a bank, and has a hard time taking days off, unlike me and my job 🙁 so with us leaving for mexico next week, yeah… he wouldn’t be able to take the time off. I think if I REALLLLLLLY needed him, he would though 🙂

RE: Haha, well, I’m just weird and anal like that when it comes to walking dogs. I guess part of it is my OCD and part of it is just because I am very hard core when it comes to dog walking. 😉 The other dog – you can see him if you look really hard. He is in the first group photo that I posted. See where Jasper is sitting? See the Raven Cliff Falls sign right next to Jasper? The other dog isstanding right behind that sign. He’s black, so he’s kind of hard to see. As far as bathroom breaks – it’s wilderness out there. So I pee behind a huge boulder or a tree, LOL.

April 26, 2011

RE: Heehee. Well, to be honest, I would MUCH rather pee outside than in a dirty public bathroom! LOL. If you want some GREAT tips on walking a dog and raising a dog in general, watch “The Dog Whisperer”. I get all the seasons on Netflix and let me tell you, I have learned SO much from that show. Cesar Milan is awesome! And Jasper is a super-awesome dog today because of his advice.

ryn: I just posted a more flattering photo of her if that helps. LOL but yeah… I understand why you’d be offended, but she’s actually pretty cool (on the show anyway.)

April 26, 2011

:o)

April 26, 2011

That’s Garcia from Criminal Minds, I love her! But aside from being blonde, wearing glasses and working on computers I don’t think you’re much alike.

April 26, 2011

Ryn: I still think she’s pretty, but I can see why you’d be offended.

April 26, 2011

Also, there’s nothing wrong with chicken quesidillias. 🙂

April 26, 2011

thanks for the advice 🙂 You’re so right about being consistent! It’s hard, especially when you’re tired and worn out!! I wish someone else would give him baths and clip his nails…lol..you’re lucky!! ha!

April 26, 2011

RYN: He talks me into sex. I don’t really want to but end up doing it anyways. LOL! You’re probably right. Super geniuses have way too much on their minds. Those woodpeckers are not only loud and annoying they are killing my trees. If they were smart they would go back into the woods aways.

I may steal this.

So why did you laugh at the question “How fast have you ever gone in a car?” 😛
