when it rains, it pours…goodness?

though i seem to have gotten sick again (might have something to do with being up with sawyer every night except last night), i had a good day yesterday. mom and i did some small shopping but got quite a bit of stuff. for $17, i got:

-a steel tonka truck for sawyer

-the book "a tree grows in brooklyn"

(both second-hand)

and

a set of alphabet stamps for me from zellers. mom transferred her zellers points (you get them whenever you buy stuff at the store) over to me and by combining our points, i got a $10 gift card.

mom bought lunch, so i had a nice day out shopping and barely spent a thing.

after shopping, i went home with mom and hung out there until dennis picked me up for class. at class, the trainer asked me to write an article about him. he liked the article i wrote about his son and people have been asking him about the club and his history as a coach/fighter, so he decided he wanted me to write a piece.  i’ve got to come up with my interview questions and then get together with him.

after we picked up subs and sawyer, we went home and found some messages on the answering machine. not only had i won a book at the library  (apparently i entered a draw. i think i’m entered automatically by being part of the book club), but the editor of our local paper had called. when i got a hold of her, she was calling to ask me if i was interested in being a reporter at another paper. though i can’t take the job (i don’t have a full license and don’t see me getting it soon. also, i’m not a journalist), i was really flattered she thought of me. she remembered that i’d given a resume to her boss (to be a proofreader/editor) and she’d read an article i’d written (on the trainer’s son) and thought of me.
