it’s friday! *edit potty

 *Guess who peed in his potty?! I sat him down and we read a book and then he was peeing! But then I pointed it out, he got excited b/c I was excited, stood up, got some on the floor. Oops. I don’t know if the bowl moved (it moves really easily, stupid thing) or if he was still peeing when he stood up. Needless to say, he’s having a bath now. Here’s to hoping he understood what he was doing!!!! 

as sawyer eats his cheese and cucumber sandwich and colouring, i am choosing books i read on facebook and thinking about the fact that i love fridays. fridays mean dennis and i (and sawyer, of course) are together for the weekend. fridays mean shopping (usually) and today is no exception. first, we’re going to stop at Giant Tiger (on our way-it’s in a different city) so i can buy more of the undies i bought last time we were there; they’re comfy and cute and only $3. the one pair i bought has pink maple leafs in hearts all over it and there was a pair with moose and canadian flags in pink but i bought a blue striped pair instead, so i want the moose pair now. hopefully, they have some left in my size.

once we get to london, we are going to linens n things, as our friends are registered there for their wedding (which we are attending tomorrow.) dennis likes to give money but i like to buy something from registries. i like giving something they can remember i gave. money is nice but it’s not as personal; i know registries aren’t either but it’s better than giving them something they don’t want. it’s a happy medium. after lnt, we’re stopping at wal-mart for a couple things and i just might try to talk my way into going to old navy while we’re at it. *giggles* money is good at the moment (lots of overtime for dennis and i’ll soon be getting small checks from my little writing job but i’m hoping that will cover my crop club) so it’s been a good shopping month for me!

i think groceries are going to end up being designated sunday’s task, as i don’t see us fitting them in tonight. we are leaving when dennis gets home and grabbing something to eat on the way so groceries might happen but if they don’t, it’s fine. none of us will be here for long tomorrow. sawyer’s going to nana’s and we’re off to the wedding. we’ll be eating in london probably with some of the other club members.

dennis bought sawyer a new potty (we had an old wooden one) last night. sawyer seemed to think it was a chair with a bowl in it. i wish they’d made it a little harder to get the bowl out. he picked up the bowl, blew on it, and said "hot." then he put it on his head and said "hat." so far, he has not done what is supposed to be done in it! LOL. i caught him one minute too late and he filled his diaper before i could get him to the potty. good news is he can now say "potty" and "pee." bad news is i’m not sure he completely understands what it is for. he tried to pee in the other one the other night but i’m not too worried. he’s still young; even the bit he’s done so far is pretty good for a boy his age. maybe that whole babies-who-wear-cloth-diapers-know-when-they’re-wet theory has a lot of merit. we’ll see.

we will probably finish off the bedroom tonight. dennis bought a frame we needed to complete the wall above our bed and we’ll grab new plug covers while at wal-mart. here’s the area/wall above the stairs complete (don’t mind the step ladder.) hopefully, i didn’t show this already:

as i said, tomorrow, 2 members from our club are getting married. i’m so excited to see her dress (and some of the people we hang out with, as i’ve not really seen them dressed up.) she’s wearing her mom’s dress; they didn’t have to even take it in and she’s in amazing shape so i can imagine how small her mom was back then (we know the whole family)! they did take some things off the top and make her shoulders and arms bare though. as you might have guessed, i had dennis take pictures of my possible outfits. we’ve already chosen but i thought you might be interested anyway. if you’re not, skip it! please ignore the fact that i look like a geek in all of them. LOL.

dennis chose this. he really likes it. i don’t hate it but i wouldn’t mind buying a dress to wear (old navy maybe?) i have a gray sweater for over top but i might try to hunt down my blue shawl and see how it looks. not sure if i will wear jewellery or what purse i will carry (probably black patent.)

if it is chilly, we decided that i’m going to wear this next outfit. i  pencil skirts. i don’t like the fact that i’m standing like a monkey. LOL.

i bought this top last october. the pants i bought to go with it fall down when i put them on.  the top, i cinched the belt and found it to be quite nice. it’ll be way too warm to wear in the middle of august (the fabric is a bit too heavy), but i’ll find something to wear it to sometime.

as i now realize, i suck at doing my hair so who knows what i’ll do with it tomorrow. i might straighten it and leave it down a la clare danes…or TRY to anyway. i really am hair clueless:

sawyer’s asleep. it took me a while to write this entry. i had to stop to get him out of his high chair and change his bum and put him to bed. time for a shower to get ready to go out tonight! i have to do some laundry as well. sawyer doesn’t really have any diapers left. they’re soaking but not washed. i should get my pics for mom together and put them on the card reader too. i might put the pics in a file but save the card reader for another day.
