Nepenthes

otherwise known as monkey-cups

an order of carnivorous plants mostly found in Indonesia

They’re a type of pitcher trap

slippery waxy sides

and enzymes to break down anything that wanders in

 

But the name nepenthes is greek

it was a mythical drink that healed sorrow and forgetfulness

a drink of grecian mythology

because finding these plants elated some 18th century botanist so much he had to geek out even further

and name it something obscure and greek

My head hurts and I miss him

we really ended it this time

green eyes and a goofy smile

shoulder muscles and a ridiculously loud snore
