November 2nd An act of Kindness

Well, last night I took it one step further and sewed his initials into each of the gloves while watching TV with Rob. I didn’t work until later today, and the receiver always takes his lunch at the same time. So I beat him downstairs, and with the gloves and hand cream in a little clear produce grocery bag, put them on his receiving table where he keeps his invoices.

I had them tucked under my sweater which was under my arm, so no one would see me walking through the store with it. My hard was racing, I didn’t want him to know it was me, and also didn’t want anyone to think I was stealing something!

I snuck back into the kitchen and told S what I had done. I wasscared of being caught but I had to tell her what I was thinking because otherwise I’d give myself away.

Not five minutes went by and Ch. appeared in the kitchen, a look of absolute bewilderment on his face.

“Did you- give me these?”

“what?” He wasn’t making eye contact, just staring down at the gloves in his hand in amazement.

“Someone left these on my table with some cream and stuff. Was it you?”

“no! Oh wow, that’s so nice! Yeah, we did have that conversation, but it wasn’t me” with a HUGE grin on my face.

“Well I think it was you… Thank you. I don’t think anyone has ever done anything so nice for me.” He was looking up at me now with this mix of amazement, bewilderment, and gratitude.

I felt like I was glowing for the rest of the day. What a great day.
