Thoughts on the Open Diary itself

A simple “be careful” would have sufficed. Just because of things I have written in here does not give reason to tell me all about how my bf is one day going to beat me until unconscious, sit by my head and wait until I wake up and then start beating me again… That is a really awful thing for ANYONE to have to go through, but was it really necessary to upset me with all of that because my bf had a childish temper tantrum? Ugh oh man! I remember now why its been so long since I’ve written in here! I tell myself its just for me, but if I get a note, its a fun little extra. That I won’t take it to heart. But I do. I always do. Then I find myself checking and re-checking to see if I have any diary notes. And I usually don’t. Its like an addictive spiral of the search for positive reinforcement on the internet. Is this diary really all that healthy? *sigh, sigh and sigh again*!

Oh yeah, I meant to ask you for the soup recipe. Please share. I would love to try it. 🙂

I just found your diary today, reading random posts – I just re-joined 2 days ago after many years away (lost my old account even). I’ve written three posts so far and have been *constantly* checking for notes, feel so stupid. It does seem silly, but really if we were just writing for ourselves, we’d either a) keep the whole thing locked/private or b) write in a physical journal, right?

But the thing I like about it here (besides the easy format of searching through your own entries, and pretty pictures/fonts/backgrounds, etc.) is that you can spew things out like a normal diary, just clearing your mind, but also get feedback from strangers when you sometimes need or can use advice. You just have to decide I think to totally ignore (even delete?) the ones that go too far.

Hope I’m not coming across just like the people you described! 🙂 Just giving my 2 cents, which with my rambling turns out to be about 50, sorry…
