Question to the women here about menstrual cycles

This is going to sound like an odd question, but it seems like the older I get, the shorter my menstrual cycle is. I think mine’s around 23 or 24 days long. Is anyone else experiencing something like this? Also, my periods only last 2 or 3 days.

I guess I never really paid attention to how long it was before. Maybe that’s it. It never really occurred to me that my cycle could be this short… it seems pretty consistent now, though. My periods come every 24 days or so.

Anyone else?

I think from a biological standpoint, this actually makes sense. The older a woman gets, the more her clock "ticks down," meaning that her body offers more opportunity to become pregnant.

I dunno, though!

That is a darn good question. My period used to come like clockwork every 28 days, but it’s been so irregular lately (probably due to stress!) that it’s hard to keep track. It would make sense, as you said, but I’ve never heard of a medical study saying anything to that effect.

Were or are you on birth control? Even though I am no longer on birth control (not seeing anyone I decided to give my body a break from the chemicals), my period still comes on the same day or the day after as it did when I was on birth control. I don’t track how many days it is because I know a couple of days ahead of time, when my lower back starts hurting.

Mine has started to be a couple days shorter as well. It used to be exactly 28 days, and now it’s around 26-27. It only lasts 3-4 days, but it’s always been that way. RYN: My hubby is a Marine and it does make me feel better knowing that it’s do-able. How long has your boyfriend been gone?

ryn: Thanks for your note & yes I think I’m going to give your suggestion a try (: Sorry I haven’t replied earlier, but I’ve just recently figured out the whole note system.
