Friday afternoon

So it has officially been a month since I got word from the cosmetics gig that I should take some time off temporarily… I don’t know if I mentioned it here, but I have been talking to Rich about this. I thought it was the first conversation leading to "you’re laid off", which would suck. Not only would I be out of the easy paycheck (did I mention that they pay really well?), but I’d have to start buying my own skincare instead of getting it for free. Well, I’m not laid off… my boss tweaked his budget and laid off just about everyone else in order to keep me on board. He said "you’re my shining star, Daddy loves you!"

Which is hilarious… he’s only 10 years older than me,  and is a lot of fun. Whenever he comes to town for work we always take him out for dinner and dancing. I’m glad that I can still work with him. And also, our spring line has a lot of great things I can’t wait to get my hands on!

This whole weekend will be spent like so:

Friday night: go to La Tazza Fresca to see my friend’s band play, then go home to sleep.

Saturday: go to yoga in the morning, then drive across town to pick up lunch at Mr Natural and then teach my teacher training class from 12 to 6.

Sunday: same as Saturday.

I will probably try to get Rich to take me to a movie on Saturday, the Drafthouse would be good…. that’s a local theater (well, they have satellite locations in other cities now) that serves food and wine/beer with your movie. I get paid this weekend, so I’ll actually do the ‘taking out’, but he’ll do the driving.

Yesterday I won a contest at the yoga center for, basically for being awesome. It involved being told "sell this item, it’s $1,000" and then selling it to the first person who  walked in. The prize was a $50 gas card, which I gave to Rich… I mean, I spend like 2 bucks a week on gas with my scooter, he will actually get some use out of it. I also got him (actually, both of us) wristbands for SXSW this year. I was going to just surprise him a couple of days before the event starts (it’s like two weeks long or something), but last night at dinner he was telling me that he REALLY wants to go, and he was going to buy his wristband, and that he really wanted me to go with him this y ear…. so I figured it would be a good time to say "yeah, I already took care of that. Daddy loves you!"
