another thing…*WITH EDIT*

This past Christmas my sister and I were sitting on the living room floor laughing and carrying on like we do, when my mother in law started asking her what she did for a living. So sis starts talking about the whole artificial insemination gig (in case of newbies: my sister and her husband have a few prizewinning bulls and they sell their semen for a whole lotta money). Mommy in law is a little horrified by this, and the look on her face gives it away, and when my sister notices that she blurts out:

"What?? oh come on, it’s not like I’m out in the fields jacking off cows all day. There are decoys for that."

(apparently, they have a fake cow that they spray with some kinda lady-cow hormone or something and the bull thinks it’s a real cow and he humps a receptacle and they just "harvest" that. Well, the husband does, my sister is too squeamish to even prepare chicken for cooking, much less harvest  bull fluids)

Okay, I promise not to turn this into a sister  blog, but she’s just been on  my mind a whole lot lately.

*oh wow… I totally left out something important here y’all! A reader asked if I meant to type out "it’s NOT like I’m out in the fields…" which is what I meant… instead I left out the ‘not’, which indeed takes this story to places I didn’t intend. Just to clarify, my sister is NOT.. repeat: NOT! a bovine love assistant.
