weather woes

I know I shouldn’t complain about the weather here, when it’s actually pretty nice here in the winter. Here’s the thing… it’s in the 50s and 60s during the day. Nice! I love it. But it’s supposed to rain today, and I really don’t want to be out and about on my scooter in the rain. It rained on me A LOT last year, and I never really liked it. I had an emotional response to getting rained on… whenever I’d arrive home dripping wet and chilled to the core, I felt really sad. It was a very sad-trumpet sound moment. So that’s what I’m looking forward to today. I’m trying to make it not rain now with THE POWER OF MY BRAIN.

I made a lot of phone calls yesterday… I called La Plaza mall and spoke to the store manager of the Sephora I’ll be visiting this week so that I could give her my schedule and let her know how I’d like things to go (trainings on Friday, consultations on Saturday with pre-booked appointments). I also spoke to my friend PJ. We grew up together and were inseparable from the ages of 10 to 21. We’ve stayed in touch loosely since then; I moved to Austin and he stayed down there, so we don’t get to see each other very much. He’s working for MAC cosmetics just a few doors down from the store I’ll be working at, so we’ll probably just grab lunch at the mall. He wants to go out or hang out on Saturday. My sister’s family will probably want to barbecue on Saturday, and I told her that I’d make my world famous enchiladas, which sent her into a fit. She loves them but doesn’t know how to make them since my mother refuses to share her recipe between two different children. The recipe is apparently her legacy to me. I’m gonna share it though, since I’m not planning on have kids to share it with.

oh yeah… the smurfs turned 50 this month! and I can’t stop watching the biggest loser marathon that’s going on right now.  Bye!
