talked to pat briefly today.  what i got out of the conversation is this:
#1: his girlfriend may be moving to maryland to take a job offer, and
#2: he may be breaking up with his girlfriend whether she moves or not.

now, he didn’t come right out and say he was thinking about breaking up with her, but that’s the vibe i got.  he said he was going to text me later tonight because i told him if he needed someone to talk to, he could always talk to me.  and i meant it.  i would love for pat and i to be friends.  because regardless of the fact that pat and i are not good together, i love him.  and i want him to be happy.  and i enjoy him as a person.  would it be so wrong for us to be friends?

holly and amanda don’t seem to think it’s a good idea.  his girlfriend, obviously, doesn’t think it’s a good idea either.  which, to be honest, i get.  i really do.  i’m not trying to cause problems.  i just miss having him in my life.

and then today i got to thinking….what if he DOES break up with sara?  then what?  is he going to try to get me back?  would i let him try?  could we make it work?

i don’t think so.  i think all the old issues would still be there.

but who the fuck knows at this point.
