Update!
Well it’s almost been 3 months since I last wrote in here. I figured it was about time I did. It’s hard to keep up with this thing when you have a baby in the house. I’ve definitely learned how to type with him in my lap. Let’s see… where to begin. Christmas went by without a hitch. Braeden got plenty of toys and attention. New Year’s Eve was a little overwhelming for him but we got through it. In the middle of January he started "army" crawling everywhere. That has been an adventure to say the least. Just a couple of weeks ago he started pulling up on things and climbing. That’s even more fun. We’ve installed baby gates and I’ve taken extra steps to really baby proof the house. He’s still putting everything he gets his hands on in his mouth. He had his nine month check-up on February 25th. He was 16 lbs 5 oz and 27 1/2 inches long. He’s still long and lean. He didn’t have to have any shots but did have his blood drawn to check his iron levels. The lowest you can go is an 11 and he was at a 10.9. So the doctor wanted us to start the Poly Vi Sol vitamins again. Those vitamins stink. But I’ve been successfully mixing them in his baby food and he’s taking them fine. I’m still breastfeeding and had originally planned to wean at 12 months, but the closer it gets the more I think I will let Braeden self-wean. I don’t really see the point of stopping at just 12 months. The benefits far outweigh just stopping for no reason. We just started him on Stage 3 food and the doctor said to start being braver and offer table foods to him. So far that’s been a success but it sure makes me nervous thinking he’s going to choke!
In other news… we got a foot of snow last night! It’s March! I’m so ready for spring! I just hope that on Easter it’s decent out. I don’t want rain or snow and if it could be at least 60 degrees then I’ll really be happy. I want the kids to be able to enjoy it and hunt for eggs. I’m debating about going and getting Braeden’s picture taken with the Easter Bunny at the mall. Those pictures are really expensive! But I know it will be cute if we do it. Work is going good. I’m ready for my friend’s mom to open up her daycare so I can become her assistant director. It will be nice to be able to take Braeden with me to work. That may be awhile off yet though. Braeden’s 1st birthday is less than 3 months away! I have no idea what we’re going to do! I guess I better get planning. That’s all I have for now. I’ll leave you with some pictures…
