Baby advice

I need some advice on how to get my little one to go to sleep by himself! The doctor suggested swaddling him. He always gets out of any swaddling I try and put him in. We bought a swaddle me blanket today but he can get out of it as well. They really need to make a medium size in those. We had to buy a large which is like 15 lbs to 22 lbs or something and Braeden is only 11 lbs 9 oz (as of last Wednesday anyway). Well the small only goes to 14 lbs…why should I waste the money on the small if he’s only going to be able to wear it for a little while longer? I’m not made of money. bah. My husband thought maybe he’d rather sleep at an incline so we bought a positioner that is at an incline. I don’t know if that is going to work or not. Right now it’s not working. The kid lays down for maybe 15 minutes to a half an hour and wakes himself up. I can’t stand to listen to him cry forever. Right now I’ve got him in his swing behind me and he’s wide awake. I may have to nurse him to get him to go to sleep. It’s driving me crazy. My husband is no help either. Whining when the baby wakes up crying. A little help might be nice. Bleh. Anyway. Any advice would be welcome.

When my son was an infant, he hated swaddling, even in the hospital. He was also an infant that didn’t seem to sleep much. I had to take naps when he did to get a very small amount of sleep. It lasted about 4 months, then he started sleeping more at night, and taking longer naps. You have my sympathy, hang in there mom, it will get better.

you have to swaddle him tight. i could never do it very well either. i always thought i might hurt the baby, heh. usually they end up smacking themselves awake. so just get his arms in there good. you could’ve got the smaller swaddler because he probably wont need it when hes bigger. also you could try one of those positioner cushions (not the incline one)the kind that keep them from rolling.
