More About Brookdale
Well, I had my first test in my Education class today. I got an A. I’m happy.
I was feeling kind of overwhelmeed yesterday, but I think that was mainly because of sleep deprivation. Plus, I had my computer literacy class yesterday. Made it there late, partly because of the snooze button and partly because they switched rooms on us, so I was wandering around for a few minutes before finding someone who knew where the class was actually meeting.
All in all, though, at least I know I won’t be the clueless one in class. There’s this 42 year old woman in there who was getting messed up when all we were doing was typing a letter into Word during the lab.
It shouldn’t be that bad of a class. And Education is going well. That one’s more about understanding the concepts of teaching styles so far. And Speech, my teacher’s insane. He’s great. He’s funny, he’s interesting, and I think he makes all of us feel really comfortable. I guess you have to, though, with so many people afraid of public speaking.
All in all, I think it’s gonna be a good semester. In the fall, I’m signing up for four classes. An education one that’s the fieldwork follow-up to the one I’m in now, possibly a history class that talks about the music of the sixties (can we say ‘easy A?’), maybe a foreign language or biology, and one other one that I need for the degree and know I’m gonna enjoy.
That’s my system. I’m gonna pick two classes I like and one I don’t like for each semester. That way, even if I have a bad day in the class I’m not looking forward to, I can counter it by thinking about the good classes.
Today in Speech should be interesting. We have a quiz and then have to give the intro to our informative speech using the five points of introduction he’s told us about. Which reminds me, I should really be studying for that supporting materials quiz . . .
Well, my intro goes something like this:
"Where we goin’ fellas?"
"To the top, Johnny!"
"And where’s that, fellas?"
"The toppermost of the poppermost!"
And that’s exactly where John Lennon, the alleged leader of arguably the most famous band ever, brought the Beatles. From the streets of Hamburg to icons worldwide, the Beatles epitomize the belief that if you believe hard enough and work long enough, you can truly achieve anything. I can personally say I’ve probably forgotten more about the Beatles than most in my generation will ever know, but the inspiration behind their songs is still something fresh in my mind. So I’d like to indulge you in how some of these songs came to fruition. First, the story behind Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Then, the tale of Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite. Lastly, the cereal-inspired Good Morning, Good Morning.
Lol, I just stopped to write some keyword notes down on how I wrote this out. I want to remember to use vocabulary like "indulge" and "fruition." Good words. Very good.
At least right now, I don’t have to work on purposeful movement and Powerpoint. Ugh. That’s gonna be "fun."
Well, I should finish up here and get to studying.
For anyone who sees this, yes, I’m going to start putting my entries public again. No, I haven’t written about things with Rob, but I will write out the entire story soon. I’m just waiting on a few things. Luckily, however, I am feeling much better than I was when everything went down.
A note to say someone read this!

ryn It’s easier, but it really doesn’t take much more effort or time to clean the foreskin. ~

ryn There isn’t, but I’ve got problems enough dealing with tampons and other ick like that. Formula is better than nothing if you or your child can’t nurse, like I said, and they’ve improved them greatly since the 80s. Now most formulas are so similar to breast milk in taste, texture, and nutrients that it’s hard to tell them apart if you don’t know one’s a formula. ~
