Working On Myself
Ryan and I, when we hung out and then when we IMed recently, were talking about romance and stuff like that. We agreed that one has to work on oneself before searching for romance and love and everything. To focus on other areas of our lives.
And I’ve been determined to work on those other areas. It’s so weird how life works. Just after I make that decision, a friend pretty much falls in my lap!
I was with Rob at Barnes and Noble, after having just gone to Target, and I was in the DVD section when I hear this kid say something about Once Upon a Mattress. Well, I mentioned how good of a show that was and the mom and I start talking. Then, her daughter comes up and she has manga in her arms. We started talking about different computer icons we liked and it turns out we have some of the same ones! (Specifically, Full Metal Alchemist.) We exchanged E-mail/IM names so we could share icons, and then she asked how old I was. Turns out we’re only about three years apart, and she lives about ten minutes from me. So since I had yesterday off, we agreed to call one another and make plans to hang out. We were able to hang out and talk for a couple hours and then she had to go to a babysitting job, so I dropped her off.
Melanie and I were supposed to hang out and go to see P.S. I Love You, but it was on too late for her, cuz I guess she had to get up early today. But when Rob and I were hanging out in our room, we started talking about going for dessert or some such, so we wound up going to Friendly’s, and I got a Cone Head. Then, while we were there, we decided to go to the Multiplex and see what was playing, cuz I was really interested in seeing One Missed Call.
So, we went to the Multiplex to see what was playing and the two movies I wanted to see, One Missed Call and Sweeney Todd both started within five minutes of one another. One Missed Call won the coin toss, though, so that’s what we saw. It was good. Ring-esque, definitely, but really good.
And it turns out that I have tomorrow off, so I’m gonna call Alexis, (Barnes and Noble girl,) and see if she wants to hang out, and possibly Melanie, see if we can catch that movie. Either that, or catch it with her this Tuesday, after I get off. (Normally, I never work Tuesdays, but Jane needs someone to open in Marlboro so the manager isn’t doubling seven days in a row, so I voluteered for the morning.)
