Back-Tracked On The Employment Ladder . . .

Well, I should probably give a major update, huh?

Nah, I’ll give a major one the next time I come on, cuz I’ve got other stuff to look up.

Quick update:  A few days ago, I finally broke down and went to McDonald’s, figuring why the heck not?  We need jobs and honestly, beggars can’t be choosers.  So they took down some info on both me and Rob and I went back there yesterday to see if anyone had looked at it.  Well, turns out the one manager was gonna call us.  She wanted to hire us both for afternoon/evening hours, and asked when we could start.  I said tomorrow, being today now, and she asked if I would be able to come back at five that night for training.  So last night I went in and trained at the drive thru, learning how to talk and be talked to through the headset and how to man that computer system.

Yeah, it’s McDonald’s, but honestly, it’s not that bad.  And the one guy said we could pretty much have as many hours as we wanted.  So I figure if we both ask for five days a week, nine hour shifts each night, we’ll average about 17 hundred dollars a month.  And that’s pretty good, consiodering that we’ll probably only make about six bucks an hour.  Which means we can be back in a New Jersey-oid location by January of ’08!

Yeah, that’s gonna be my major drive for dealing with McDonald’s.  But to be honest, the people there seem pretty cool.  They don’t really seem petty, they’re not standoff-ish, and they are really friendly.  So I guess it won’t be so bad.

Wish me luck!

P.S.– Melanie, send the danged letter!!!

P.P.S.– I’m sending you stamps in my next one to you.  Lol.  🙂
