About Me (For GodsDaughter)

Okay, here’s the basics about me.

My name is Kate.  I’m 22 years old, I turn 23 this July.  I still live with my parents and with a friend of mine who used to be my boyfriend.  The story with that one is semi-complicated, but I can tell it fairly easily.  His name is Mike and he and his family never had the best living conditions.  They lived in an apartment about ten minutes from me when I met them.  Well, Mike and I became boyfriend and girlfriend my senior year and were together for about three years.  Within those three years, his brother went off to the National Guard and then rented a room with another family that owned their own business.  He worked for that business, so it was logical for him to move in with them.  Mike’s mom went off to Nebraska, (there’s another whole story with that, but suffice it to say that it pisses me off to think about it.)  That left Mike and his dad in the apartment alone.  It became to much for them to handle the rent and bills after awhile and since Mike has a job here and was going to the community college at the time, moving with his dad to the northern part of the state was not the best arrangement.  So, he moved in with me and my parents and rents our formerly spare room.

Let’s see . . . I own animals.  I love birds and have two cockatiels.  I also have a hedgehog.  All three reside in their cages in my room.  Downstairs, so she can see people, is my ferret.  Mike also has a bird, a parrot called a yellow naped Amazon.

I recently quit my job at a dollar store nearby, for a lot of reasons actually.  The main ones being that one of the other employees told me that myself and another girl were going to be fired.  I’ve figured that it must have only been a rumor, but I didn’t like that a rumor like that would go around and didn’t really want to work with people who will spread those rumors.  And secondly, some friends of mine and I are talking about getting an apartment together and I couldn’t carry my weight financially if I was still working there.

So before I quit, I made sure that I had another job.  I actually managed to secure two.  A seasonal job at an amusement park, (I’m a rides manager,) and a Domino’s pizza delivery driver.  Yeah, I know, not the most glamorous of jobs, but they’re both asy, they’re both fun, and they bring in pretty good money.

My main ambition in life is to be an author.  I have so many story ideas flowing through my head that I doubt I’ll ever get them written down.  Some are half-baked, some are fully thought out, some are just scenes that I wish I could turn into a novel . . .

I actually have a series based on my life since my sophomore year of high school.  A lot of it is fictionalized, but nearly everything in there actually happened.  Or at least the guidelines are the same.  Such as, my character asks a guy she has a crush o to kiss her on July 4th, after they saw the fireworks display.  I actually did that, but it wasn’t on July 4th, it was on New Year’s Eve.  His reaction was the saem, though.  He said no.  ::Sighs with laughter::

Anyway, I hope I can get that series together eventually and get it published.  It’ll be my Tolkien, as far as writing goes.

Yeah, I love Lord of the Rings.  A friend of mine dragged me to see Fellowship back when it was still in theaters, insisting I would love it.  He was right.  I did.  I do.  I collect the action figures, for crying out loud!  Lol.  I actually do have a whole book shelf filled with the action figures.  And they’ve spilled over to my wall unit, too.  And I can recite nearly the entire Council of Elrond.  Hm . . .  Obsession, much?  Yeah . . .

Anyway, moving on!  Religion, here’s where I get even weirder, I suppose.  I do believe in God, I’m not sure I believe in everything the Bible says, and I hate organized religion.  I had some very bad experiences involved the reverend of the church I used to attend, and exactly how closed minded religious people can be.  Not all religious people, of course.  I’m not trying to stereotype by any means.  But here’s an example.  The daughter of that reverend wasn’t allowed to watch the Wizard of Oz.  Why?  Because of the “magical (and therefore evil) powers of Glinda, the wicked witch, (who isn’t wicked!), and the Wizard.”  (Who actually had no power, but that’s another story.)  I mean, put simply, “Oh.  I see.  So you, a reverend, feels that God is so weak and un-omnipotent that someone can’t watch a movie that has something to do with magic without falling victim to sin?”

Anyway, after the conflicts that I had, mainly with that reverend, (and it was about something different than the movie close-midedness,) I refused to attend that church and still hold to that refusal.  Once I was able to seperate out that it was the people I was disgusted by and not God, though, I came to realize that I’m a non-denominational Christian.  I guess that’s what you’d call it anyway.  I don’t belong to any church because no church matches what I believe and I’m sick of the ossipy, nosey, stupid hens that cluck around, trying to figure out details they have no business learning.

Anyway.  Yeah, I do believe in God.  That belief is why I don’t drink iced tea anymore.

Hmm . . .  Yeah, that one needs explaining.  See, (and I wrote about this somewhere back there,) I once spilled iced tea on my laptop.  And a friend’s father couldn’t take a look at it for a couple of days.  That night, I was praying that my laptop would be okay, that at the very least I’d still be able to recover the information on it, and saying that if I was, I promised I would never drink iced tea again.

The keyboard and disk drive are shot on that computer, but I can hook another keyboard up to it, and I can access all the info that was on it.  And I’ve kept that promise.  I haven’t had iced tea since.

I admit, it may sound stupid, I don’t know.  But honestly, I made a promise to God.  And if any promise should be kept, it’s that one, you know?

Okay, I’m gonna leave off here.  I hope you can read this entry.  And how about you?  Same questions back at you that you asked me.

Here are some entries I wrote in my old diary that I don’t have anymore that you can get to know me better. Note me on what you think of them. If you want to you can either find the entries yourself or go to the following places. I will continue this in the next note.

RYN: That’s true. I never considered the ADD factor. (See? That’s why I need other people reading my thoughts!) If my kid ever got ahold of coffee, he would be bouncing off walls and the whole deal.

For the five thousandth time, YOU ARE IN THE SEQUAL!!! Besides Michelle isnÂ’t so much the Bookish girl, as the intellectual Pagan. Unfortunately there is no one like that in the game, accept the Parapsychologist who appears in the sequel. So I kind of morphed the bookish girl into a mystic zealot type. She carries a book of the dead, reads the stars, has spiritual connections to nature. She carries

a book of the dead, reads the stars, has spiritual connections to nature. YouÂ’re the true Bookish girl, but in the sequel, several years after the first one, when Michelle is the Parapsychologist. DonÂ’t worry, I would never write a story without including you guys. BTW: I thought you liked being bombarded by notes. You always said that was something you loved about me. Oh well. I’m depressed right

right now, and have no intrest in thinking logically. Life is terrible, I shall explain in an entry. Later OrcDragon65

I got your email and responded back. i probably will tell you when I email you so you will check your email. Here is the entry I said in the email I would let you read http://www.opendiary.com/entryview.asp?authorcode=D498876&entry=10031&mode=

I like the flower on your diary front. Where did you get it from?

What do you think of the pic of me on my diary front?

RYN: Actually, all Opera means is that it is entirely sung, it has nothing to do with the musical style. JC and The Wall are both considered operas. Les Miz and Phantom both have spoken parts (I think) and are therefore not operas. :0)
