Hectic Morning, Boredness, And The Court Jester
Yesterday, I had to wake up at 9:15 because of a dentist appointment where I found out that I should definitely have the wisdom tooth on the upper right removed. And no doubt later on, I’m gonna have to have the other two removed. Joy . . . ::wipes away dripping sarcasm::
After that, I had to rush immediately over to Domino’s for the school runs. I’d warned John on Wednesday night that I might be a bit late Thursday morning. Anyway, I made it there within five minutes of when I guessed I would, clocked in, and folded boxes for the pizzas. After I did both school runs, I had to take regular delivery. Unfortunately, I forgot the soda. ::Smacks forehead:: I keep doing that . . . I picked up the soda, picked up Mike from Staples and basically said, “Okay, you don’t have to do anything, but you’re coming with me.” Dropped off the soda, dropped him off, and went back to the store to clock out and go home for a few hours before heading back at five for the rush.
When I got home, I took the birds out and decided that since their wings are still mostly clipped, I could safely bring them outside. I wanted to see what they thought. Ivy hated being outside, she was afraid of everything, but Peti had seemed to like it. Anyway, I brought them out and they both seemed to like it. I put them in my favorite climbing tree and they walked around on the different branches and stuff. It was so cute! I wish I’d had a camera.
Then Mike and I went for a drive. I passed this horseback riding place a few dasy ago on a delivery and I wanted to see if they gave public sessions. So we found the place and I asked, but they don’t. Argh. And it looks like a really nice place, too, dangit.
After that, he was being all mopey cuz he was supposedto meet up with people at Game Factory. The usual, Denny, Rob, Bryan, Colleen, etc. But he figured since he was already late, we might as well stop over to Barnes and Noble. So we did and he picked up his Shonen Jump and I got the fourth, and it turns out last, volume of Wish. I dropped him off at Game Fcatory and had just enough time to come home, eat something really quick, read Wish, and go back to work.
I didn’t make out too badly in tips. And I knew I hadn’t gotten enough sleep, because Ellen made me go completely hysterical with one thing she said. See, if a pizza sticks to the screen thing that they go through the oven on, we keep it at the store and make a new one for the person. And the employees are able to eat said stuck pizza, once it’s gotten off the screen, usually in messy, cheesy pieces. So, Ellen and I are hacking away at this thing, finally managing to get it into a box, and Ellen says to one of the other people there, “There’s pizza back here, it loks like it’s already been eaten, but it’ssafe.” And that just set me off. I must have been laughing at that for a solid five minutes. And then randomly throughout the night.
Anyway! After I got home, I went online and was checkng out OD stuff and whatnot when Melanie IM’s me. We exchanged the usual banter of “what’s up? not much, you? not much.” She said she was so bored she was talking to Dan. Lol. So I figured, okay, let’s see if she wants to hang out. I asked, saying maybe we could go to the court Jester again or something and she agreed, So I said to give me about twenty minutes to take a shower, (cuz I smelled like pizza,) and I’d pick her up.
I rushed through a shower, changed out of my uniform, and drove over to pick her up. We did go to the Court Jester again and were basically talking/laughing the entire time. We were talking about people we knew, ‘what if’ guys — relationship-wise, and we got to quoting Boy Meets World. Then somehow . . . Oh, I remember how. We were talking about the proms we’ve gone to, and she was saying how she hadn’t liked a lot of the people in Rob’s grade that were at his junior prom, or something like that. I asked her what about Mike Sal– something or other. I can;t remember his last name. And she said he was originally in her grade and that’s when I remembered that he got left back. We started talking about him, and she told me this one great story that Mike S. will never live down. LOL. It turns out that she didn’t know I worked with him and his girlfriend, Ellen. So after Court Jester, we decided to go to Domino’s and harrass them.
It was great, as soon as I walked in practically, I mentioned the story he’ll never live down, and his reaction was priceless. We hung around there for a good forty five minutes, then I drove Melanie home.
When I came back to the house, Mike was all spazzy and stuff because his hard core character, (that only has one life and if he died, he has to start over with a new one,) got killed because of some pop up advertisement that came up at a really bad time. I admit, it sucks, but still. Anyway, we played a few games of Meelee and then I was spent. I changed into a nightshirt and crawled into bed, falling asleep within about ten minutes.
This morning, my birds woke me up, so I got my blanket and pillows and went downstairs to the couch, only to be woken a few hours later by Dan coming in and calling to Mike. Turns out he basically came here to pick Mike up on a whim to help him clean their aunt’s house. I hate it when he just comes here on a whim like that . . . But it didn;t really matter much to me today. I had other stuff I wanted to take care of and Mike actually should be back any minute, so we can bring the birds and the ferret out when he gets back.
I can’t wait to go to the Barnes and Noble in Paramus Melanie told me about. Five floors of books! I have a feeling I’m gonna know how Belle felt when she saw the Beast’s library.
Honestly, I’m loving this. The last time we hung out, when she talked about hanging out with Dan, or Shannon, or Rob, or whoever a few years back, I was jealous. I regret what I missed out on. I wish I hadn’t. But last night, I realized that the times I have now with these people are better. We’ve all grown up to varying degrees and for the most part have seperated ourselves from needless drama that should be left behind in middle and high school.
Argh. Back on track with my train of thought. My point is, maybe I missed out on some things a few years ago, but maybe I’ve got something better now. I’ve got friendships with these people that I think can last. Instead of talking to people online and hearing them say, “Oh, you’d love this, I’ve gotta show it to you one day,” but not believing that anything would actually come of said thing, now, I actually do believe that said person and I will hang so that I can see said thing.
I’m in a really good mood right now. I like good moods. Oh, can anyone get me good directions to Silver Bit and Spur? Like, landmark based, or something? Cuz I would love to go there, but I don’t know how to find it. I wanna go horseback riding again. Soon. More than likely on a M
onday, cuz I just have completely off that day.
Hmm . . . Must go check out website for this now . . .
Bye!
