I Got My Twenty Dollars

My Mood:   — Serene

Lol.  Okay, the title needs explaining.  When I was about six years old, my dad brought me to New York and I actually did some “modeling” with a couple of other kids for some magazine.  (I don’t think they actually used the pictures they took of us for anything, though.  Oh, well.)  But I was promised twenty dollars for doing it.  So every night that Dad came back from going into New York, I would sit by the door and ask, “Didja get my twenty dollars?  Didja get my twenty dollars?  Didja get my twenty dollars?”  I finally did at some point back then.  All I can remember is how rich I felt that I had twenty dollars.

Well, tonight I made twenty dollars in tips from Domino’s.  So, yay!  And it does average out correctly.  I was there about four hours, I make a little over five an hour, and made twenty in tips.  That averages about ten bucks an hour.

So, I’m keeping my tips for fun money, gas, etc., and putting my paychecks in the bank.  And tomorrow, I’m quitting the dollar store!  I work until closing on Thursday, so I don’t want to have to do that and then get up at nine thirty the next morning.  Cuz they close at midnight.  Then I work till one on Saturday, cuz that’s when they close on weekends.  So I’ll be sleeping in on Easter Sunday, yes I will.

But all in all, this still amounts to one very happy me.    After I took my first pizza, I couldn;t help thinking as I was driving back, then driving for another order, “I’m getting paid for driving around and delivering pizzas.  How awesome is this job?”  Except I want pizza now.  So much.  I love Domino’s.  The one guy says I’ll get sick of it, but I don’t know if I can.

Okay, I’ve got virtually nothing else to write so I’m gonna go.

Bye.

I own Baron Munchausen. I loved that movie when I was younger and it still holds up as one of the most wonderful, childlike experiences in film. Plus it was directed by one of my favorite film makers, Terry Gilliam of Python fame who also directed one of my top 3 favorite movies, the infinitely underrated “Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas.”
