Job On The Boardwalk
My Mood: — Funky
Okay, so at the dollar store, I’m almost done with the balloon things. I have some more to put into the binders, then I have to number all of them, then I reaarange them on the wall so they match what the binders say, instead of how they originally were. After that, I’m done.
On the upside, I’ve been working past when I should have gone home, so I’ve picked up some extra hours. I’ve alreay got about 39. So I’m gonna get almost fifty hours on my paycheck tis time around! Nice! Extra money to play with!
I’m glad for one thing. I was talking to Colleen last night and she’s saying how she wants to move out of the apartment she shares with her mom, and that she and her boyfriend, Bryan, are looking for a place to move into by December. So I was saying how cool it’d be if the two of them, and me and Mike shared a place. And we were talking about that, and now it’s a very real possibility that it could happen. And as long as we respect one another’s belongings, and each pay our share of the mutual things, I think it could work. Colleen and I are gonna meet up later in the week and make a list of everything we can think of and then get together with Mike and Bryan to talk over what wecome up with and ask if they can think of anything else.
In other news, while I was talking to her she mentioned tat she now had a job at the Keansburg Boardwalk. I asked how she applied and she said through the website. She gave me the link and I filled out one, too, and was called at about eleven today! So I went in for an interview after I got off work, and if I’m hired I’m gonna be in charge of running one of the rides. How cool is that? Apparently they need older people to run those, and the people from about 16 to 18 run the games. It’d just be weekends at first, but I’m up for that. It’s extra money I can save up and I think it’d be awesome to work at an amusement park. The ride manager, if they want to hire me, will call me anytime in the next two weeks to let me know if/when I should come in for training.
I hope I can work there over the summer. I’m not sure how much I’d get per hour, but they said no less than seven, so that’s good. The only thing I’m mildly worried about is how long the shifts are. No doubt I’ll get to wear sneakers, but even so, all day long on my feet, and they’re gonna hurt! But I’ll be okay. I’ll deal with it. I hope I’m called.
Things are looking up and I hope they stay this way. I’ll probably have a downhill spell at some point soon, but even so. In the long-term, right now, things are looking really good.
I wonder how it’ll be, though, being out on my own? I mean, yeah, there’ll be three other people there, of course. But this is the first time I’ll be moved out of my parents house. I’ll truly be my own person, responsible for my own stuff, my own money, my own … everything. Thinking about it, it doesn’t seem scary. Just … exhilerating.
I’d definitely need to save up like mad, though. Cuz not only do I have my monthly payments to my mom, two bills, and the gym, but when we’re in our own place, Bryan and I’ll have to get our own insurance for our respective cars. Or at least I will, because I tink Colleen said she could add him onto hers. But nonetheless, for me, that’s an extra seven hundred. And I’m not sure if that’s per year. If it’s every six months, that means $1400 a year! Six bucks an hour is not going to cut it for that. Not to mention the shared bills of an apartment that I’ll need to contribute to.
Even with that, though, I do hope we pull this off. I think we can. It’s just a matter of figuring out how to manage finances. I can’t wait for this. Lol. For Christmas this year, I may get the gift of being out on my own!

Haha thats a cool job. That reminds me of the movie Joe Dirt, when hes wearing the overall things and hes hitting on that girl lol. It sounds like a fun job though, better than mine! I wake up early on the weekends and scoop horse poop! 🙁
