Sister Rivalry (Fanfic)

“Nessa?” Elphaba said in wonder.  “But– but you died . . .”
The cloud cackled maliciously.  “Did you not think I had power, too?  I AM the Wicked Witch of the East, after all!  I had a part of my soul transferred to these slippers if anything happened to me prematurely.  And don’t you know–I performed the spell just in time!!  For not an hour after I finished, a HOUSE dropped on me!”
“Nessa, listen to me,” Elphaba tried to say.  “It wasn’t my fault . . .  Morrible and the Wizard–“
“Don’t pawn this off on petty theives with rich reputations!  It was your fault!  You ran off and were never there!  You missed my coronation, you missed everything!  You abandoned me after you got in the Wizard’s good graces.”
“No!  I would never abandon you!  Nessa, things happened that I wasn’t able to tell you about!  And besides,” Elphaba’s face contorted in anger, “what about you?!  You blamed me for Boq being tunred to tin!”
“It was your fault!  You performed the spell!”
“Yeah, because you were too jealous and petty to let him go after you found out he never loved you!  You wanted him to love you, you wanted to steal his heart but instead, you shrank it!  You almost killed him!”
“No!  Boq was mine!  And you ruined him!”
“Um . . . Nessa?”  Dorothy stepped forward.  ‘If there was a spell on those slippers, then why didn’t it affect me?  I mean, I wore them, too.”
“You?!  You wore my slippers?!  You infernal wench!”
“Why wouldn’t they affect her?” Fiyero demanded.
Nessa’s spirit regarded him callously.  She didn’t seem to recognize him.  “Why should it affect a purely human girl?  Stay out of this, Scarecrow.  And you, too, you little killer.  The same to you, Glinda the Good-for-Nothing.  This is between me and my sister.”
“Nessa, what have you done to these slippers?” Elphaba wanted to know.  “What have you done to me?”
“Oh, worry not, dear sister.  You’re just going to live out your life the same way I had to.  But believe me, you’ll be needing that chair you were sitting in!”  The smoke witch began to laugh as she dissipated.  Minutes later, the last of her cackles echoed off the walls and once again, everything was silent.
“What did she mean the same way she had to?” Glinda asked.
Elphba looked at the chair she’d sat down in to put on the slippers.  “Nessa’s old wheelchair . . .”
“What?” the three chorused in unison.
“She’s crippled me with this spell . . .” Elphaba said with horrifying certainty.

ryn- I still don’t believe a man can be raped. If he is aroused then he is not being raped. He wants it. As for premarital sex, I agree that teens have enough to deal with without having sex, but as boys’ sexual peaks are at 18, I am not completely opposed to it, and as someone who started having sex at 16 I feel that sex is very important to a relationship. (And I don’t think that anybody under

16 can really have a “relationship..” Not a REAL one, anyway.. I also don’t believe in marriage, so that would be part of a reason why I think it’s stupid to wait until marriage to get married. If your sole purpose in life is to get married then that is silly. You can have a very successful (and sexual) relationship without marriage, but I do not feel that you can have a successful relationship

without sex. Not a love-relationship, anyway. Without sex all you have is friendship. I do believe that there is much more to a relationship than sex, of course. Obviously we differ on these points, and will not sway the other, so…….. As for what made me write my entry on rape, it was on my mind so I wrote about it.

(By the way, one reason I feel that sex is important to a relationship is because I feel like if you’re going to get into a relationship then you should be treating it as a marriage. Thus a piece of paper is not going to change the state of your relationship, only make it harder to breakup- just thought you deserved a reason for my views, not just opposition)
