What Is WRONG With Me?????

Okay, once again, I’m sitting here on the laptop, when I should probably be doing something else, and I figured, ‘okay, let me listen to music.’ So, I grab my Paul McCartney CD where I can literally list the songs from one to seventeen, I think it is, in order. Or, at least, I could do that . . . Yeah Dolly, it’s the one with C Moon, where the background kids sound like the people from South Park, and with Goodnight, Tonight on it. Anyway, so I listen to about two lines of Band on the Run, switch to Jet, switch to No More Lonely Nights, switch to Silly Love Songs, switch to Junior’s Farm, and finally give up and put in the CD Shannon made for me again. Geez. I’m over-throwing Beatles music for more modern things.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Lol. Anyway . . .

Oh, my God. I just got a letter from my Grandma, answering my thank you note and a few questions I had about my Grandpa. Like Melanie’s grandparents, they were married for fifty years. They had celebrated their fiftieth anniversary the June before he died. As I’ve said somewhere before in this diary, he was blind and had been since the time my mom was about two or three. He never got the chance to see my face . . . But anyway, in my letter asked Grandma whether Grandpa was right or left handed, because I had no idea. I’d obviously never seen him write anything, and the Braille things that he did make for me once, Grandma mailed to me, so I never saw him make them. All I had was a sudden recollection of a dim memory of him outside our front door, using his cane, (you know, one of the canes that the blind use?) with his left hand. That, and the fact that my aunt is left handed led me to conclude that he was probably left handed. But he wasn’t. At least not dominantly. He was ambidextrous. He could use both hands equally well, but he wrote with his right hand. How cool is that? ::Sighs:: Cool, yeah. But more and more, I’m wishing I’d asked these questions when he was alive . . . There’s a lesson to anyone who thinks, somewhere inside that their relatives will always be around. They won’t. Find out all you can when you can, from them. They’ll appreciate it, and it won’t keep you awake for years, after they’re gone, because you’re berating yourself for not saying anything when you had the chance. I’m just glad that in June, I did talk to him on the phone, and was able to wish him a Happy 50th Anniversary.
