Exactly How Many Story Ideas Have I Had?

I was looking over this old binder type thing yesterday night, and taking out a lot of the papers that were in it.  I don’t know why it still does, but it surprised me how many papers were the start of something I wanted to write.  I think there was the start of my Phantom and Christine story, told with my own twist, there was one I started writing when I was ten, and considering the fact that I was ten, it’s pretty good.

I have a lot of things that are only one or two pages, that were meant to be entire novels.  They may yet turn into such, but they haven’t yet.

You know, I remember  why I wrote my first novel.  Well, the first one I finished, anyway.  Because there was one before it that I got a notebook and a half written of before I realized there was absolutely no plot to the thing whatsoever.  But my first novel, with Ivy and Paul and Leslie and the rest came about because of another book I’d read.  It was about this guy who was paralyzed because of a football accident, and his girlfriend didn’t know what to do to help him out of his “giving up” depression.  My original idea for the first novel was that Ivy had had an older brother.  One who’d died several years before in an automobile accident.  Or, should I say, in the hospital after said accident.  See, I was going to have her brother be really into sports and stuff, and after the accident, he found out he was going to be paralyzed for life.  He couldn’t deal with that, and lost the will to live, dying in the hospital about a month after the initial accident.

Well, Ivy’d been dealing with that, and then she meets this guy who’s a little dfifferent, a little cryptic, but they become good friends.  Then, he gets into a car accident himself, and winds up facing the same fate as her brother did so many years before.  Ivy is at first scared off, because she’s not over her brother, and she doesn;t want to lose someone else.  But as she sees this guy losing the will to live, she must decide: does she remain silent and risk losing him, or confront her fears and face all the secrets of her past?

Maybe I’ll think up new names for the characters and actually write this one.  It doesn’t seem like such a bad idea.  Any suggestions?  Should I do that?  What does anyone think of the novel idea in general?

Well, I gotta go to work soon, so I’ll write more later tonight.  Maybe I’ll have chapter two done by then.

Your ideas are always interesting. *lol* Sorry I haven’t written “real entries” but I’ve been busy working, studying and trying to get Kenny settled in here in Jersey. I Just haven’t had the time to get on the computer and actually write something. I might now, while I have a break in between classes. We shall see. Good Luck on the stories and all that stuff.
