I’m sitting here, trying to figure out what I will need to buy for school supplies for the upcoming year.  NOW is the time to buy that stuff, it’s so cheap.  It only oes on sale once a year.  I’m going to Office Max tomorrow to pick up 1 cent crayons, and I’m hoping to get 100 boxes.  I don’t know how many they’ll let you buy at one time… I’m going to have Shabree and Syd buy the max as well as me. 

Got distracted (what else is new?)  I went looking for kid’s sites, and there are a TON.  Many, many of them will be perfect for Sammi.  I need to find, or make, time to sit on the computer with her and just work with her on learning her ABCs and her numbers, and her colors (well, I won’t do ALL of this on the computer of course!)  I’d like to get her used to reading, phonics and sight words.  I’m not sure if I can pull off a half day "preschool" for her, or if I can even accomplish 2 hours a day… and then there’s the fact that when the other kids are "doing school" she’s going to want to as well and I’m going to have to have activities for her to do!  I found a bunch of coloring books, and activity books in the box we got from the house down the street, so she can use that, plus I can print off some things, and also sit with her at the computer.  I just can’t have her interrupting and constantly needing attention, and while I could probably put PBS on for her, Shabree will want to sit there and watch it with her.  Not good, and not happening.  What I really have to guard against is the girls getting distracted or not wanting to do their work, because someone else is doing something more "fun" and they would rather do that more fun activity.

Oh, and Shabree wants to learn cursive, so I told her we’d do that outside of "normal" school hours, so as to not interfere with what we need to do, as opposed to what she wants to do, which I fully support her wanting to learn cursive!  She’s also wanting to learn multiplication, so we’ve started memorizing the tables, Syd too.  I’ve got to start back up with going over and over those with her.  There’s a web site I had found that is interactive with the tables, it’s not just static, you position the cursor to give you the total of any 2 numbers, it’s pretty cool.  Though I do not know if it’ll actually help her (Syd) to MEMORIZE those tables! 

I’ve got to go, just wanted to say though, Bec colored my hair today!  It’s red, red, red.  She didn’t get great coverage though, and it was only Dollar Tree dye, so I should go buy another one and finish it so it looks even.  It’s pretty though… I look good in red, that’s for sure.  Maybe one of these days, I’ll experiment with blond.  I’ve NEVER gone blond, but since it’s a dollar, I’m willing to try it, lol.  The red looks really good.

I’m so tired.  I found plenty of good sites, now just need to get them plugged into all the computers… and figure out a schedule for what Sammi can do.  I found a FANTASTIC site with tons of downloadables and art projects.  I need time!  I’ll have to find a way to work it out.  Next year I can start Alex on some of this stuff too.  It was all just so beyond Shabree… hope Sammi and Alex can handle it better… Shabree didn’t start on much of the worksheets until she was in kingergarten because every time I tried them with her, she quickly got discouraged and I was trying not to kill her self esteem for them.  Sigh.  That was SO depressing.  She HATED worksheets.  They were NOT FUN.
