Made the mistake
Of making Becca come to dinner with us. Sheesh. Yea, I keep wondering when this is gonna get better. SO full of attitude, that girl. Was it just 2 years ago that she was still a person you could live with? Jerry told her next time she could stay home, and we would NOT be bringing her a sandwich.
I gotta quit harping about Becca. It’s just hard, because EVERY DAY it’s something new, and hair tearing, scream your lungs out, drive you up the wall frustrating. She forgot every manner she was ever taught, thinks things should just be handed to her, won’t help out in the least, and yea, I want to just tell her she may leave ANY time she wants. Right now, it’s her foot. She tore her tendon somehow, and obviously, it needs to heal up, so no jumping, no kicking, no rough stuff in other words. But she CAN walk on it, and is encouraged to. WELL. She wanted crutches, and was mad when they wouldn’t give them to her. And she doesn’t WANT to walk on the foot at all, even though 1) she needs the exercise and 2) Her foot NEEDS to be worked out somehow. She swears that despite her eating habits, she won’t get fat like her mom. She hates it when we talk about eating a good breakfast and NOT just a muffin top, even though her DOCTOR said to eat protein at every meal. Honestly, that is one fight I’m probably going to give up on. We’ve done all we can to educate her, the rest is up to her. Either she listens, or she gets fat. Any kid thinks they’re immune. We’ll get her a bike for her birthday, and she’ll have to ride it to school, and exercising that much, she’ll be able to eat whatever she wants, so I won’t worry any more about her. But she has gained a lot in a short amount of time, and she doesn’t even see that her weight is a problem. I mean, I’m 3 or 4 inches taller than her, and she weighs as much as I did when I was her age, and back then, I was considered "heavy" but looking at pictures, I was skinny. I do have big bones, and so does Becca, but she doesn’t have the height. She needs to be about 20 pounds lighter. But, when I think about picking your battles, something tells me this is not one I’m going to win anyway. And I don’t want her to be dieting and worrying about her weight, but let me put it this way, the other day she had McDonalds, and she ordered TWO McChicken sandwiches and TWO pies. I told her to give one of the pies to Syd, but I don’t know if she did or not. I told her one sandwich was enough, but she didn’t want ot be told that. I do fear she’s going to grow up to be just like her mother, except that her mother is charming, and Becca is not. Jane, bless her heart, is SUCH a major screw up. But she’s so easy to forgive, and I’ll never know why. I have an absolute soft spot for her and I HAVE to let Jerry be the bad guy and tell her no. I love Bec, and I just want her to be… well, happy obviously. Productive. I don’t know. It’s hard to break such lazy habits.
AGH… I can’t get into my mail. Maintenence.
So Shabree’s doctor visit went well. She got her warts "burned" off, and her finger pricked to do an iron test (it should come back fine, we eat a lot of iron containing foods, and cook many things w/ a cast iron skillet) Those finger pricks HURT. Poor kid. She IS a trooper though. I’m so proud of her.
Well, I guess I’ll post. Jerry declared he didn’t want to do dinner at the Nugget anymore. Don’t know how long that’ll last, but with Shabree and Sammi running around, and Bec and Syd not acting very well either, I don’t blame him.
I do my best to never mention anyone’s weight whether it’s up or down. Personally when someone tells me I shouldn’t be eating anything I’ll eat double. A bike sounds like a wonderful idea. The best you can do is NOT have junk around the house.
Warning Comment
